Finnish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH have received a gold award for 100,000 sold copies of their newest album, Dark Passion Play, in Germany, within one week after its release end of September. The presentation of the award took place at the On A Dark Winter's Night Festival in Oberhausen, where Nightwish played in front of 6000 fans.

Dark Passion Play entered the German album charts on #1, just as it's predecessor Once from 2004. Other awards in the long list are triple platinum in their home country Finland, platinum in Switzerland, gold in Sweden, Austria and Poland.

Nightwish will release the second single out of Dark Passion Play called 'Bye Bye Beautiful' on February, 15 as a normal CD and a DVD with clips and specials.
