Metal road warriors DevilDriver will hit the road in Winter 2008, headlining the “Bound By The Road” tour in support of their acclaimed masterwork, "The Last Kind Words." This tour marks the band’s first headline run for this album. Also on the bill are death metal legends Napalm Death, and up-and-comers Walls Of Jericho, 36 Crazyfists and InVitro. The tour begins on February 27 and runs through April 19.
Pre-sale tickets will be available exclusively for members of the band’s newly launched fan club, dubbed “The Wretched,” on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at https://tixx1.artistarena.com/devildriver/. Tickets will be available for the general public the following day. Additionally, those diehard fans who purchase 4 or more tickets at once will gain early entry into the venue, and participate in a 30-minute pre-show meet and greet with the entire band where they will be able to take photographs and have two items autographed.
“The Wretched” is an exclusive, official fan community where DevilDriver fans reap loads of benefits for the low annual cost of $19.99. Members of “The Wretched” will receive a t-shirt and patch upon signing up, automatic entry into contests, monthly giveaways, as well as more intimate access to the band through web chats and blogs.
Of the fan club and the tour, frontman Dez Fafara said, “We have just started our first fan club, and we have put together a diverse package. We have one of the greatest legends in metal playing right before us and we have a punk rock band opening for us. We’re going to do an hour to an hour-and-a-half on stage every night, and we’re going to throw in a lot of songs we have never played live before. There will be more of a production on stage, too. With lights and all. We will be playing a lot of stuff from our new record. And there will be some surprises, too, so come out and see the show!”

Ok first off, I love Devildriver... But they need to show respect here in my opinion... They should be opening up for death metal legends Napalm Death. That's not right. This is like Job for a Cowboy opening up for Deicide (not really a tour, but an example). Two really good bands, but lets face it, Devildriver wouldn't be in existence if it weren't for bands like Napalm Death. It aint right.

I'll agree in part - it could go either way. But Devildriver have undoubtedly sold a good number of records too. Their current popularity is certainly enough to headline a small clubs tour. I haven't seen Napalm Death fill a larger venue than Jaxx in my area either.

This is going to be incredible.
Yeah, yeah, Napalm may have been around longer but seriously.
I'm pretty sure Devildriver is recognizing and appreciating Napalm for supporting them.
It's Devildrivers turn to headline, and if they can get legends like Napalm to back them up, more credit to them.
Point is, this show is going to be unbelievable.
