Finnish/Swedish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH have been been confirmed for next year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany. The festival billing is shaping up as follows:

this is a very good lineup as hatebreed and killswitch are my least fav. bands on here and they wouldnt affect my desicion one way or the other but first im gonna have to get a plane ticket to Germany

i've seen nightwish 3 times, saw their first london gig with brainstorm and then the 2 following years and all 3 were good gigs at the astoria. not too keen on them anymore because my tastes have evolved and their new singer isnt really what id consider a replacementto tarja but i'll watch them at wacken, this is one band i aint going to heckle because they "dont fit the bill" KSe and hatebreed dont, nightwish do, in the same vein as moonspell this year.

I wish i could be there. Maiden, Kamelot, Nightwish, Avantasia, Sonata Arctica - even AS I LAY DYING and Killswitch Engage...too bad Manowar isn't a part of the lineup....yet still Metal-Heaven indeed....strange mix though with Christian and PRO-Christian bands with Black Metal bands.....there's definately something there for everybody....i hope mutual respect will be maintained.
