Mudvayne Singer Speaks On New Album

The Pulse of Radio reports: MUDVAYNE releases a "fan-generated" collection of rarities, demos and live recordings called By "The People, For The People" on Tuesday (November 27). The record contains demo versions of some of MUDVAYNE's most popular songs, including "Death Blooms", "Fall Into Sleep", "Not Falling" and "Happy". Singer Chad Gray told The Pulse of Radio he thinks fans will enjoy hearing the tracks in their earliest stages. "From the demo standpoint, it's kind of cool because it's like, I think it allows the fan to adhere more to the band," he said. "It allows you to go deeper because they're hearing the songs on the records that are realized, where demos is just mapping. It's just getting down ideas, like broad strokes. So it kind of allows you to see where that song came from and kind of be a part of the life of what that song became."
Fans helped choose songs for the CD at Mudvayne.com, with the group deciding on the final selection.
The set also features a new song called "Dull Boy", which serves as the first single, a previously unreleased cover of THE POLICE's "King of Pain", plus live and acoustic versions of other MUDVAYNE favorites.
MUDVAYNE has posted some previously unseen band footage at its MySpace page in conjunction with the CD's arrival.
The group will enter the studio early next year to complete its fourth studio album, which is due out sometime in 2008.
Gray's other band, HELLYEAH, is currently on the road and recently issued a live DVD titled "Below The Belt".

This album sucks. Almost every song is the DEMO version of the album version. All the live songs are the exact recordings from the All Access to All Things DVD from the Summer Sanitarium Tour. Little effort went into making this an enjoyable album. You will be disappointed, so don't waste your time. Makes me wonder how much effort will go into their next studio album. My confidence is minimal at this point.

Yea, I didnt bother buying this album because I'm not into demo albums or live sh**. I got that one song "Dull Boy". What a disappointment? Mudvayne was great when L.D. 50 came out, but they wanted to enter into mainstream music so they changed their whole F***IN style to sound like nu-metal artists. My confidence is minimal for their next album as well...

heh. You were right the first time post 2 when you said product.
This is a stop gap album to fill the patience void of fans and the financial void for the band between albums.
Hellyeah didn't quite connect the way Mudvayne has slow burned it's way into the mainstream these last 8 years.
Mudvayne is going to rally, put out a record even more radio friendly than the LAF and pretty much ruin fans who loved their early work, their major label debut and followup.
Now Playing: Mudvayne - "Cradle"...Still a damn fine song for the genre.

lol post 5, you mean 2050!
mudvaynes older work is good, LD 50 and the beginning of all things to come(i think thats what its called?)with songs like dig, death blooms, nothing to gein, -1, not falling, etc. I did not like fall into sleep though, or that song TV Radio on Lost and found lol

Everything before Lost and Found truly defined Mudvayne. Everything after was just for the money and the publicity. Take a song like "Dig", and put that on the radio. That'll let people know that back in the day, Mudvayne wasnt all friendly; they were serious when they played L.D. 50. I was not surprised that it went gold, but after that, everything went downhill...it's hard to find a good band these days that's serious about their music and not just about the money. Example: HellYeah..

Hellyeah is a pathetic attempt of a band. Everyone should just stick to their own products
