Extreme metal unit JOB FOR A COWBOY has announced a special one-off in-store promotion with specialty music retailer Sam Ash. The Glendale, AZ band will make an exclusive appearance at Sam Ash's Franklin Mills, PA location on Saturday, November 17 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Attendees will have a chance to meet JOB FOR A COWBOY as well as the opportunity to win musical equipment including Ibanez guitar and Tama drum products.

JOB FOR A COWBOY is currently on the road co-headlining the 2007 "Radio Rebellion" tour alongside BEHEMOTH. Presented by Hurley and Converse, the massive, 28-city North American trek is showcasing the cream of the crop of heavy music's rising stars from points across the globe and is being called "the most ambitious heavy music tour of 2007."

JOB FOR A COWBOY, which has seen a meteoric ascent unparrelled in recent extreme metal history, is continuing to tour in support of its debut full-length album "Genesis". Referred to as "the most anticipated debut release from a metal band in years," "Genesis" debuted at # 54 on Billboard's Top 200 chart this past May, shifting nearly 13,000 units in its first week of release and joined the initial releases from STONE SOUR and DAMAGEPLAN (which featured members of SLIPKNOT and PANTERA respectively) amongst the highest charting metal debuts to crack Billboard's Top 200 since SLIPKNOT's 1999 self-titled album. Additionally. the band has earned a landslide of recent accolades including being named "Best Underground Band" at the 2007 Metal Hammer "Golden Gods Awards", one of Total Guitar's "Hottest Guitar Bands of 2007", one of Alternative Press' 2007 "Bands You Need to Know" and one of Revolver's "Breakthrough Bands that will be Kicking Your Ass this Year".

AZ band with a drummer from Pittsburgh. . .and they go out to Philly. Overrated deathcore anyway. They may have lost the poorly done inhales and overdrawn breakdowns but now they're just ripping off Cannibal Corpse's Kill Era writing. It's not fair to call them the best underground band, a good majority of their fans are trend following scene kids.

Come one focus shift get a grip JFAC isnt ripping anyone off. Theyre making their music, I dont think they said hey lets go make an album that sounds like Cannibal Corpse's Kill album. Plus the first album they did was badass and original, the breakdowns arent bad either i think it gives a new feel to metal. The bree vocals are kind of retarted but when he wasnt doing BREEES he was belching out some pretty bad a$$ vocals. JFAC RULES NIGGGGAAAAAAAAA

I agree with post 4, scene kids follow them, making us lot look like scene trend followers to others regardless.

Okay Cynic, if you think JFAC are still deathcore than you obviously haven't heard their new album "Genesis". That sh** is straight up DEATH METAL alright. I hate deathcore personally and I hated this band up untill they're latest release but that sh** is pretty badass and won me over as a fan. And really don't give a flyin' f*** if "scene kids" like em cuz JFAC is tight.

I think these guys are f***ing great. Not a rip off from Cannaibal Corpse. This is one of the best new bands out there. I hate their name though lol.

They're not a straight up Death Metal band. They have one riff and it really is a rip off of Kill Era CC. Maybe if they were ripping off older CC I'd call them a death metal band. Genesis isn't a bad album don't get me wrong. But it's overrated.

Good argument post 12. Let's say f*** a lot because that's the metal thing to do.

Their name was going to be "This looks like a job for a cowboy" but it was too long to fit onto shirts.

I enjoy ripping on this band because of all the myspace following they have and every single scene bandwagon metalhead worships the ground this band walks on when their album is rather generic.

When a band like JFAC does an about turn and tries to become more metal, nothing ticks me off more. For one, it says that they don't think highly of what they're doing in the first place, and secondly they always bring elements of the previous into metal. Trivium are doing the same thing. In either case they lose what originality they had while keeping the popularity.

Bottom line if I want to listen to brutal death metal why would I bother with a deathcore turned death band that ain't that original when I've got Cryptopsy, Nile, Suffocation etc?

I agree that there's way better death metal out there, Death is my personal fave, but these guys are still descent I think. And I could give a sh** about weather or not scene kids follow them, those fags like whatever is popular. That includes bands such as Slayer, Maiden and Megadeth to name a few. I've seen emo/scene kids rockin' merch of those bands, which is probably what I hate most about them.

to put in my two cents here, genesis sucked. i tried to like it, honestly, but it was extremely boring and i decided to stop listening to it about 2 songs in. they still use about 2 riffs for each song, and every song that they have on genesis sounds exactly the same. they stopped doing brees, which is great, but the only thing that i thought that they ever had going for them was the breakdown in entombment of a machine. after that i couldnt really care about the rest of the song because it was just the same sh**ty boring riff over and over again. they are a scene band because simple music sells easily. scene kids only listen to bands like cannibal corpse for the irony. all they really care about are breakdowns and pinch harmonics. ive been to enough local shows and hung out with the local "scene" for a long enough period of time to know exactly how these kids think. bands like jfac and suicide silence are the reason why every local show in the area has some sh**ty band that cant even play anything that has any sort of semblance of harmony, but can play the same sh**ty breakdowns over and over again and get tons of idiot scene kids into them. deathcore is a total scene trend, and i cannot wait until it is gone.

cynic sums up just about everything i had on my mind from reading this. I mean, taking away the bree brees was a step in the right direction. Deathcore indeed blows nuts, there are hundreds of sh** bands in jersey who love to do that pig squeal nonsense and like to flail their arms around at shows cuz they think that's metal. deathcore is not "brootal" as the scene kids call it.

It's even sad to hear scene/trend-metal kids saying that any death metal bands who play break downs are just trying to mimic jfac. As though death metal never used breakdowns or inhale vocals. They just did it tastefully with enough musicianship to add to the simple thing that a breakdown is.
