Long Island's THIS IS HELL has entered the studio to begin recording its sophomore release. The as-yet-untitled album is well in progress, with the drums already recorded at Killingsworth Studio in Long Island, NY with Tomas Costanza (DIFFUSER, BEDLIGHT FOR BLUE EYES). The band is currently at Full Force Studios in Port Jefferson to record the rest with the acclaimed producer Joe Cincotta (OBITUARY, SUFFOCATION, ANIMOSITY).

While 2006's critically acclaimed "Sundowning" will be a hard act to follow, the band plans to continue its reign of hardcore force and eloquence with the new record, which has been almost two years in the making. Vocalist Travis Reilly says, "[The new album contains] 13 songs and clocks in around 38 minutes... A bit longer than our previous record, the songs are a little longer while also being catchier and heavier, but not in that shitty pop punk mosh kind of way. The drums are finished and we start working on everything else starting tomorrow. The recording process so far has been sweet and we are very satisfied with the songs and can't wait to finish."

As soon as they finish up recording, THIS IS HELL will be heading to Europe with good friends COMEBACK KID and THE CANCER BATS, both of whom they have toured with several times before.

THIS IS HELL's new album is scheduled for release on February 19, 2008. The lyrical content of the new record has been described so far as ranging from "addressing a strong internal conflict (including the choice between overcoming obstacles and self-destruction)" to "attempting to build a life despite constant setbacks and circumstances beyond our control."
