MINISTRY, SIXX: A.M., DROWNING POOL, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES, EVERY TIME I DIE, THE RED CHORD and FUELED BY FIRE are among the bands that are featured on the "Saw IV" original soundtrack, due on October 23 via on Artists' Addiction Records (an extended digital release will follow in November).
"When we were choosing songs for the 'Saw IV' soundtrack, we asked ourselves, 'What kind of music would the 'Saw' characters Jigsaw and Amanda listen to?'" reveals Jonathan Scott Miller, principal of Artists' Addiction Records. Miller served as soundtrack producer alongside Artists' Addiction principals Jonathan Platt and Jonathan McHugh ("Saw IV" producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg are executive soundtrack producers).
Aside from occupying a certain punishing position on the sonic spectrum, many of these acts also have in common an abiding love for all things "Saw". Attests Miller: "A lot of these artists are huge fans of the franchise, and their music really relates to it." He points out that SOLIDIUM ("Trapped") are also devotees of modern horror films in general and that OXYGEN is so enamored of the "Saw" series that their contribution to "Saw IV" original soundtrack, "Do You Want to Play a Game", takes its title and thematic thrust directly from the films. Moreover, "Saw IV" original soundtrack is itself an "inspired by" collection. Aside from "Just Begun", an excerpt form Charlie Clouser's score, the songs comprising this companion piece are not heard in the film; instead, their selection was inspired by the film.

hahahahaha, very funny. looking foward 2 seeing the movie, saw 3 was the best movie i've ever saw. and this one looks brutally insane also. plus the sound track looks pertty good with a7x, and drowning pool on it, but they need 2 get some korn and shadow falls also alittle disturbed would be nice (they had 2 go and make a song 2 the transformers movie, gayest thing disturbed ever did)

I think that all the Saw movies have steadily gone down in quality, im not saying they were bad, im just syaing Part 1 was better than 2 which was better than 3. But the preview for 4 did look pretty sic, so hopefully it will break the trend.
Its cool to see Fueled by Fire on the soundtrack though.

i can't believe that they actually made a saw 4. the first movie was a pile of sh**. i mean, yea, the traps were cool in idea, but the whole movie was an incoherent piece of garbage. plot holes galore and terrible acting, probably the worst i have ever seen in my life. i never understood why people actually liked this movie, but then again, as long as theres gore some people don't really care if its a good movie or not.

I'd agree fearthedje, the Saw movies are garbage. They're no better than snuff films to satisfy the need to see sadism and torture. If you ask me fans of these movies are probably the same people who tune into the news to see the latest disaster. Reminds me of Tool songs really, both Vicarious and Stinkfist.

If you ask me the sadistic intent of fans of these movies is just as bad - unless you have a defence for enjoying watching people suffer? I'm not decrying violent movies here, but I don't see that the Saw movies have very much or any artistic merit, and worst of all to me they seem to embody the recent trend of replacing content with meaningless torture. Hostel anyone?

hostel was terrible too. hostel was terrible because it was a sh**ty movie with really bad special effects. as for the snuff film comment, i agree to an extent, but i like gore in movies and videogames. but i also happen to like plots that dont suck. and no, saw is not an intelligent movie, its anything but. an intelligent movie would have a decent plot that wasn't complete nonsense, good acting, and something that made you think. not some sh**ty, "he was in the room the whole time, how is that even possible to remain still for that long and not show any signs of life while paying attention to everything going on around him" type f***ing plot or villain. they just pull some random dude and throw him in the room as a shocking twist. the fact that people think this movie is intelligent just proves how stupid people are and how terrible movies continuously get made. no offense to you if you like it, just dont call it an intelligent movie.

anybody here seen the hills have eyes pt 1, an amazing movie, then comes pt 2 and it sucks d***. its like watching the best porno ever (pt 1 that is) then 2 guys start butt-f***ing(pt 2) the biggest dissapiontment ever.and with hostel the commercials said it was"thrilling and terrafing, the best horror movie in a long time, ya that is a tottal lie, it sucked just as bad as the pt 2 of the hills have eyes did.and so fare SAW hasent let me down with the excitment, gore, and brilliance of the movie.

This album looks a lot weaker than the last Saw album, which was very solid.
