Meshuggah Cancels Tour With Dillinger Escape Plan

Band Photo: Meshuggah (?)
Trouble has been brewing with Meshuggah since the contract renewal with Nuclear Blast. In recent months their website fell into serious disrepair, and is now offline, and their MySpace stopped being maintained as well. Rumors flew that there were issues with the band until they announced an upcoming album and tour with Dillinger Escape Plan this fall.
Much to severe disappointment and now fear for many fans, the following statement was posted by Dillinger Escape Plan:
"Due to circumstances not in our control, and I'll leave it up to the other band on the tour to explain this one, The Dillinger Escape Plan/Meshuggah European tour in November WILL NOT be happening. If you bought tickets, contact whoever you bought them from for a refund. Again, if I started to comment on this right now it would probably not be good, so I'll leave it up to them to do the explaining. We were looking forward to this more than any of you can imagine and we are just as disappointed as anyone. HOWEVER, we ARE in the process of confirming a new great tour during the same time period, most likely in the same cities, and will announce it shortly. Stay tuned."
A breakup or other serious conditions cannot be confirmed for Meshuggah at this time, and there has been no further word on the album release. More to come as we get it.

This is seriously freaking me out. Not only did I not see this coming but Mesh is one of my favorite band of all times. THey had their own sound, they inspired tons of bands. They are truly unique...If they break up, I will probably cry as well.
Let's old our breath people and hope for the best...

Out of all bands I never would have guessed Meshuggah for a possible break up. They are (in my mind) one of the most important and greatest metal bands out of the 90's and today. If they do in fact break up I hope for at least one more strong album from them to kind of close the chapter of Meshuggah in the metal world. Hmmm... I want to think of more to say, but I'm going to go listen to "Destroy, Erase, Improve".

oh sh** this could be bad... i was hoping they were talking about dillinger escape plan breaking up... well as long as the musicians stay in the music world i wont ... kill myself... (just kidding) but it would certainly be more than a loss.
I hope you guys update us on this. :/

Argh, It's a miracle Meshuggah played download a couple of years ago... they've been cancelling ever since! Annoying really, they only seem to play their US and Scandinavian tours these days. Little buggers are pretty much a constant let down! If you can't be arsed to play in the uk, don't get everyone's hopes up, grrrr! I'll let them off, because they're immense though. Just glad I got to see them that one time, I'm on the dvd =-D

I could care less about DEP, but Messhugah? I can't imagine what the world would be like without them. They were one of the first Swedish bands to get recognition in the U.S. and paved the way for other Swedish bands. I agree that it would be very sad if they broke up, I hope they don't.

It’s probably just "Nothing". This is all just a "Catch 33". "I" think they will only "Destroy, Erase, Improve." lol I had to only to bring this topic to a lighter note. We will only find out if Meshuggah tells us its over, so in the mean time they are still together in my book.

LOl, well it's still like we are trapped in a chaosphere. Maybe they are building a future breed machine or selling themselves as a cyanide christ. But hey after several years together, maybe they have a lot of disenchantment but in the end, in death there maybe death but in death is life also...

lol we can only hope we dont "suffer in truth" i hope they stick together but i'd rather they split then release a bad record out of not getting along or something. Atleast if this is the end, we had a good trip, and we all will continue to love meshuggah. plus if we loose meshuggah I'm sure the musicians would continue to write music.

It would be a complete and udder shame if these guys broke up, Im not a big fan but I know enough about the music industry that these guys have been around for years and this is not the ending they deserve.
