The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: The latest NINE INCH NAILS album, "Year Zero", might be turned into a television series. Frontman and creative mastermind Trent Reznor told a U.K. newspaper that plans are underway to bring the concept disc to the airwaves, saying, "We've got a producer on board and have met with writers. We're about to pitch it to the network, so we're a couple of weeks away from meeting all of the main people, and we'll see what happens."

"Year Zero" is set in a totalitarian future America ruled by a right-wing religious dictatorship. The populace is plagued by mysterious visions, the country's drinking water might be drugged and global catastrophe is near.

Reznor said earlier in the year that he was interested in bringing the story to the screen, possibly as a movie.

The album was released this past spring after an innovative viral marketing campaign that left clues for fans online and in venues where the band had played.

NINE INCH NAILS has yet to mount a full North American tour in support of "Year Zero", although the group's web site recently added a September 18 show in Honolulu, Hawaii to its summer itinerary, which is filled through August and the first half of September with shows in Europe, the U.K., China, Israel and Southeast Asia. NIN plays on Wednesday (August 15) in Switzerland.

This is where you and I differ Oz, I think this might be an interesting show. I'm not a big fan of TV shows in general but the idea is original. At least it’s not another “Law and Order” type show.

I was really hoping that it would be made into a movie. That way, there would be no need to tone any of the subject matter down for the networks. At the very least, I hope this goes to HBO or a channel like that, where there would be more leniency towards the mature nature of Year Zero. If this goes to cable, we'll get a sanitized, watered-down version of something that could have potentially been phenominal.

But no matter what happens, it'll still be one of my favorite albums.

I fully agree with Stephen. It sounds cool, but cable or anything but HBO or the movies is gonna f*** up the whole thing and compromise it.

I think the concept is pretty cool and everything. Well the story and that anyway, though it does sound alot like V For Vendetta. I just hated the album so much that I really don't want to see anything come of it. Just my opinion of course lol.

No. No no no.

This is by far my least favorite NIN CD. I don't even like the concept. Why is he doing EVERYTHING with his worst CD? Give me a TV series about The Fragile and I'd be happy. Not this. NIN was iffy with me to begin with but this....ugh.

I love(d) year zero, i just hope that production of this show won't put off the other half of the set. Reznor hasn't been this on his game since TDS. Just my opinion though
