Aborted have countered the claims that they are breaking up
Belgian death metallers Aborted have countered the claim that the band is not breaking up, and, in fact, are working on a new album for label Listenable Records, despite losing two members.
"First off, a word to clarify the rumous that are going around about Aborted. The band is not breaking up, there have been some personal problems and internal conflicts which have been solved this past week," stated the group's official website. "First of all we want to apologise to the promotors, bands and people who we had to disappoint by cancelling two gigs the past week, this is a thing we hate doing, but had to do, as the future of the band depended on what we had to make clear to each other."
"Big changes for the band ... it may be a surprise to many, or totally not, but we have decided to part ways with Niek [guitars] and Koen [bass] for multiple reasons, it just didn't work out on both personal and musical fronts and it was just fucking up the whole band, so this necessary and pretty heavy decision had to be made. We would like to thank them for all the invested time and effort in the band and wish them luck in their further (musical) careers."
Aborted are, however, moving forward. New album The Saw And The Carnage Done will be recorded at Aabenraa Studios (Without Grief, Aurora) with producer Jacob Hansen, of Invocator fame. The group will enter Aabenraa with two new members Bart (Suhrim) on guitars and Frederic (Impedigon) on bass.
"We feel very confident in the new line-up and things haven't been going better in months, we're quite busy on writing the new album right now, which you can expect to be more downtuned, and heavier, faster and sicker than anything Aborted has done before... The new songs can be described as typical aborted, yet, different, faster, and definitly more catchy stuff without loosing its intensity."
