The Gathering have had three scheduled Festivals cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond their control, The Gathering have had three of their festival appearances cancelled. Here's what drummer Hans Rutten had to say on the band's web site:

"We just came back from Budapest and we were informed the Moscow, Crete (Greece) and Vicenza (Italy) festivals are all cancelled."

"The festival in Moscow on the weekend of 24th & 25th August has been completely cancelled. The city authorities originally refused to grant a licence for the proposed open air festival. The promoter then moved the event to an inside venue. However, his main sponsors then withdrew their financial support and he was not able to secure alternative sponsors."

The promoter of the festival in Crete has advised us, band and our booker, that they cannot proceed with the booking of The Gathering for their festival on 17th August. The reason given is that the production and infrastructure costs have gone way over budget and will not be able to pay the artists, unless they make some cuts to the proposed bill."

"Finally, the proposed festival in Vicenza, Italy on 15th September has also been cancelled, due to lack of sponsorship."
