Warped Organizer Apologizes To Sharon Osbourne

Warped Tour organizer Kevin Lyman has apologized to Sharon Osbourne for his comments regarding her motives in staging this year's Ozzfest as a "free" event. In a recent interview with The Kansas City Star, Lyman stated about this summer's traveling heavy metal festival, "It allowed Ozzy Osbourne to get one more paycheck out of [Ozzfest], to be 100 percent honest." Lyman didn't hold back, going on to comment about tour founder Sharon Osbourne: "[She's] a smart person, but basically that's what it is. It's a ploy, straight-up. ... She was struggling to put [together a bill] because she keeps charging more and more and selling less and less tickets. The attendance of that tour has been dropping for many years, and she keeps having to spend more on the talent to get people to the shows."
In a letter released to the media earlier today by Sharon Osbourne's publicist, Lyman tells Ozzy's wife, "I wanted to apologize if any of my comments quoted in The Kansas City Star were taken out of context or based on misinformation I was given. It was not my intent to discredit Ozzy or your family in any way. If Ozzy is in fact working for expenses only, then I was wrong in saying he was out for one more paycheck. I’ll be the first to say I should not bother myself with other tours and keep my nose in my own projects as they have been keeping me busy enough as it is. For that, I’m sorry. If you feel the need to release this letter in its entirety to your Ozzfest fans, please do so — I've always been a supporter of Ozzfest and the work you do and hope that this summer's tour brings you and Ozzy great success."

Some people (^^^) just have to bash Ozzfest for the sake of bashing it or maybe to be cool. If Ozzfest had those bands on it that you name as good bands for Warped Tour, it would be getting trashed for having too much/more metalcore. Ozzfest has a killer lineup this year and has not been as bad as many people make it out in recent years (not as great as some of the early years though).

For the ones saying that metalcore is good ..you must have your head up your a$$ because metalcore would not even exist if bands like Ozzy were not around Ozzy deserves respect for his contribution to what the metal scene is today.
By the way metalcore is untalented repeated riffs all the bands sound the same and they suck. Behemoth and Nile will destroy any of your metalcore short haired untalented bands. So stick with your crappy warped tour pansies and stop complaining about the true metal fest the OZZFEST!

What age are you people anyway? If you aren't old enough to UNDERSTAND ALL of Ozzy Osbourne's metal years, then you really have no say in Ozzfest do you!? I'm not out there crapping on your music tastes. That's why we are all INDIVIDUALS and OZZFEST brings THOSE individuals together. So maybe it would be a better fit to your explosive comments if you were to examine and comment on your GOVERNMENT rather than Ozzy fans. You're wasting your time harassing us.

who cares, sharon osbourne is a dumb b**** anyways. most of what he said was true. i mean, ozzfest used to be a great tour, but people are finding a much better value at shows like SOTU. and even warped tour has quite a few heavy bands that make it more worth it. Killswitch, It Dies Today, Throwdown, Underoath, Parkway Drive. thats a pretty good deal compaired to ozzfest.
