The End Records Have Signed Antimatter

British avant-metallers Antimatter, featuring ex-members of Anathema and Drug Free America, have finally secured a label deal inside North America on California's The End Records.

So far I have only heard positive things about the label so I decided to contact The End on the back of their reputation," explained bassist and founding member Duncan Patterson. "It's nice to have a U.S. deal at last; we've been waiting long enough.”

According to The End, Antimatter's North American version of Saviour wil have two acoustic bonus tracks that also include Danny Cavanagh (Anathema). At this time, it's unknown what the two songs are.

Antimatter have also licensed Saviour for Germany, Austria and most of Europe. Here's what Patterson had to about the deal with Germany's Prophecy Productions: "I have a good feeling about Prophecy and they are well respected by everyone I have spoken to about it. It's a huge relief that a decent label have picked it up as it's too good an album to be wasted. Also, I'll have my (Strangelight) version pressed next month as well so there should be enough copies to go around at long last."

In similar Antimatter news, the band is currently readying their second album, Lights Out. “We have the second album written and will progress with that over the coming months. Also we have a few acoustic nights lined up in Europe for October 2002.”

Antimatter's Saviour looks like it will be out sometime in fall 2002 on The End Records, while Lights Out looks to drop sometime in early 2003. We'll have more news on Antimatter as it happens.
