Slipknot Drummer Promises "Heavy As Fuck" Album

SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison has revealed to Britain's Kerrang! magazine (web site) that the follow-up to the band's 2004 effort "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" will be the heaviest of its 12-year career.
"It's going to be heavy as fuck!" promised Jordison. "It's going to be heavier than 'Vol. 3...' but just as weird and as experimental. We have a whole bunch of song titles, but nothing I wanna say right now."
The sticksman — currently filling in for KORN drummer David Silveria, who has been on hiatus from the Bakersfield nu-metallers since the beginning of the year — will be touring with the band until October.
"I'm having a blast out on the road," Jordison told Kerrang!. "I'll be on the whole Family Values run in the U.S. with KORN over the summer and we've got some Brazilian dates in August and September. The KORN guys are really laid back and the shows have been killer, but in October we'll be starting a new SLIPKNOT chapter."
Jordison will regroup with his SLIPKNOT bandmates to begin writing material for their fifth studio album with a view to recording in January.
"I've talked to the other guys a bunch of times over the last few months about the new album," he explained to Kerrang!. "I've told them to demo whatever they can so we've got as much material to chose from as possible. So be warned 2008 is going to be all about SLIPKNOT!"

It better be f***en heavy, cause vol 3 was a letdown. The heaviest album they did was Iowa. So they need to make it heavier then that album. OH yeah corey better curse like a motherf***er on the new record. The last record no parental advisory sticker. Come on this is the band that brought such athems as surfacing and people= sh**. But yeah they better step it up a few notches with the next record.

Any band that releases Vol. 3 and still claims to be metal is posing as a metal band. That is how I can safely call Joey a poser, as opposed to a sh**ty drummer, which is what you seem to think I called him. Don't put words in my mouth.
Slipknot are about to make their St. Anger. Heaviest album of their career? I'll believe it when I hear it.

Comment 22: yes, Joey is a f***in poser. Yes, he plays good, no arguments there. He's a poser because he puts himself out as such a douchbag. He acts as though everything he does is SOOOO COOOL, when in actuality he just needs to keep his goddamned mouth shut.
"So be warned 2008 is going to be all about SLIPKNOT!"
-What a fag.

OK, THERE IS JUST FEW SONGS THAT MAYBE IS NU-METAL BUT THAT'S ALL!!!!!! YOU DON'T KNOW sh** ABOUT THEM SO SHUT THE f*** UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont care what u call em. IOWA is one of my favorite albums of all time and I dont care what anyone calls and thinks of Slipknot. If u dont like em, dont listen to em. They're not the only band around u know? For example, Spice Girls are doing a comeback tour, so lucky u..

Good drummer? Yes. Best drummer in the f***in world? No. I'll give that to Nick Barker or maybe Hellhammer.
And Slipknot was Nu-Metal through and through. I've listened to all their songs, I used to be a fan. Aggressive Modern Metal. . .aka. . .Nu-Metal. Learn to turn your caps off, you're not impressing anyone, nor does your argument have any real substance to it.

Do you think that if they would record 10 more "Iowas" it would be better? They did something different and I just enjoy listening to "vol3" that's it! And I'm not trying to impres someone it's just my opinion! That album has better melodies and Joey's work is better than in "Iowa"!

Agreed with Strife
Habby: Jordison's a far cry from the best. Fave drummers (web not needed) Include Gene Hoglan, Martin Lopez, Sean Reinert, Gavin Harrison, Chris Pennie, Danny Carey, and while I'm not a big fan of the band -- Mastodon's Brann Dailor impresses.
As a bassist and a terrible "for-the-fun-of-it" drummer I've always had a weird respect for Jordison's ability and style. The rest of his bandmates walk the line between average and boring. Throw in some yawn/twitch inducing lyrics and you're left with a decidely low brow and lopsided act.
Decent "Intro to Metal" act though. Better than Korn or A7X anyway.
Now Playing: Behemoth - "Christgrinding Ave."

when i think of slipsour i envision a bunch of hillbilly clowns trying to play korn riffs and it takes like 10 of them to play there generic bullsh** and then i wake up to reality and put in vital remains icons of evil and fully understand what real metal is all about.

I've been a fan from the beggining and always will be!! They always come up with different things that keep you interested. Only cuz you can scream and growl all the way through a song doesnt make it good. At least corey puts some depth into his songs and makes it mean something.

Into Eternity is a great band! I will give you that! But they have absolutely nothing on SLIPKNOT. SLIPKNOT is without a doubt, the greatest band this planet(or universe) has ever seen. EVER!
And I do agree, I do think that "Iowa" was heavier than "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)". And althought SLIPKNOT IS Nu Metal, it slowly started to fade from Nu Metal after the first album. The first SLIPKNOT album was Pure Nu Metal from beginning to end.
But my whole thing is that I'm really excited for the new SLIPKNOT album to come about. But for now, I'll just enjoy watching Corey & James do their thing in Stone Sour for now.
Stay (sic) f***ers! And long live all Maggots!

what the hell andrew? if you dont like the band, and want them to break up, why are you reading news about them?? and slipknot is not a sell out by a long shot. they got a good thing going, and it hasn't lost its vibe yet!
i agree with Timothy, SlipKnot rules.

I agree with RememberMetal? Slipknot is a great gateway band. They always take amazing bands on tour like God Forbid, Lamb of God and Shadows Fall. Slipknot were my gateway band and for that reason I will always listen. But in the same breath I can admit they're not the greatest band ever. In fact I feel sorry for all the local bands here in Iowa because they will always have Slipknot's fame to live up against. There's a great band here called Eddie Buzzard that needs to be signed.
