Metallica Fans Complain To BBC

BBC has revealed that 413 people complained when METALLICA's set was cut short during the Live Earth concert broadcast on Saturday (July 7).
METALLICA played "Sad but True" and "Nothing Else Matters" before Jonathan Ross interrupted them to introduce a recording of "Weather With You" by CROWDED HOUSE from Live Earth in Sydney.
According to EnjoyFrance.com, far less people watched the Live Earth concerts on BBC television than those who tuned in for Concert for Diana.
If all that wasn't bad enough, critics argued the Live Earth gigs themselves added to pollution of the world, and claimed that many of the celebrities involved were bad role models because they flew around the world, often accompanied by their entourages.
Professionally filmed video footage of METALLICA's three-song set as part of the Live Earth concert in London has been posted at YouTube:
"Sad But True": Video
"Nothing Else Matters": Video
"Enter Sandman": Video
The band played three songs instead of the scheduled four; "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was dropped, possibly due to time restrictions.
The Wembley Stadium Live Earth show was part of the 24-hour global series of concerts being held to raise awareness of global warming.

Dude, this whole "Global Warming" thing is REALLY starting to piss me the f*** off. People are b****ing about global warming NOW? What I'd like to know is, how come global warming wasn't a big issue 15,20,30 years ago? And why should Al Gore of all people be so concerned when he's driving around in an SUV?

murderace you are a dumb ass. people who ignore global warming are ignorant. there was no global warming that many years ago because we werent burning diesel and gasoline in our 40 ton luxury SUV's.do your part to try and make this sh**ty world a little better.

Screw the BBC . John Lennon fought the BBC back in the 60s and nothing has changed since. They're still a bunch fags in a office. Screw the BBC and the FCC. They cut good bands like Metallica and put up crappy ppl like Kanye F*** West. Screw him. Like he freakin cares about the enviroment. He screwed up Roger Waters by adding his two cents.

The thing is Nathan (though I along with everyone else know that ain't ya real name) if your sat there going on about the environment but open your statement by calling someone a dumbass, it just confirms that little bit more when people hate green freaks. Especially when you call someone that I and several others on this site have respect for a dumbass.

Is it wrong of me that i went out watched die hard 4 then got really drunk instead of caring for the enviroment by watching a load of pap bands i have no interest in or respect for?
is it wrong of me that the mere thought of a live earth concert made me leave my tv and stereo on all night? same as live 8 made me dream about strangling bob geldof with a guitar string??
oh pity metallica got cut short.. like the bbc were going to actually show a full metal set on saturday afternoon anyways.

Everyone needs to look up the documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle" on Google videos. It's long, but worth the watch. Especially that Nathan character who is so self-righteous he feels he is justified in calling someone a dumbass just because he thinks his opinion is better.

i actually watched quite a bit of live earth. i thought that it was a bunch of self absorbed, ego inflated garbage that was polluting the airwaves. every celebrity that got up on that staged and vied for change was a complete hypicrite and full of sh**.
im actually disappointed that metallica even accepted the invite to play with a bunch of washed up or talentless "superstars", oh wait, i guess current metallica kind of belongs there.

That’s funny because I had to drive past Giants Stadium when this was going on and I said the same thing as I was stuck in traffic. I guess the money they raised offset the damage they did but in all honesty the global warming issue is playing on so many levels that some musicians telling me to buy a hybrid car and “do my part” just doesn’t work for me. Let’s try working on the air pollution laws and stop these fat cats in the big oil refining companies from getting away with murder. Then we can make a call to China and say “Hey, what’s with all the pollution from the coal mines?” Then I’ll think about buying a hybrid.
And on a side note, Madonna is soooooo haggard and nasty. I wouldn’t touch her with a fake dik. Oh, and Kanye West is the biggest tool.
