New Powerman 5000 Album To Be Download Only?

POWERMAN 5000 recently stated that they would in fact be putting out a "new disc" sometime in 2007. The band have since posted this brief message on their MySpace page regarding the album:

"Should there even be an actual CD? Would it matter to anyone if the record was only available as a download? Just curious... what do ya think?"

GAY! DON'T DO IT!

any bands start doing this, pretty soon nobody'll bother making actual cd's anymore - i like having the actual cd and the artwork package in my hands, damnit! the hell with this idea!

More bands should start doing this becuase making a cd uses up natural resources and at some point in time the cd will be scratched and have to be thrown away. I fully support this idea for music, games and movies. anyways powermans last cd was pretty gay and i dont think i will get this. tonight the stars revolt is the only good cd by them.

they dont write their own music... and their new stuff sucks... the CD thing wont catch on... they're just following what their publicist says, this isnt suprising.

yeah, I got the over-riding intuitive feeling that this is a record company telling a band what to do - and powerman5000 being your typical record company kiss-arse band, it only figures.

Yeah, maybe cd's do use up natural resources. But you know what? It ain't gonna matter if we all drown in melted ice-caps anyway, hahah. I'm more concerned about car emmissions and coal-burning and global deforestation than I am about more petrichemical plastics in the environment.

Not that I know much about that sort of stuff, but I don't think cd's are the major issue here, even compared simply to plastic bags.

As for the band, they suck in all ways possible, but I enjoy the faces the singer makes in their vids, hahah. Ingenius!

i just like a couple individual songs but if you go to the myspace and listen to murder you will realize in a matter of seconds into the song, that they have changed their sound and made it punky, they are not that good anymore.

Wow. You guys seem to be really intelligent. Could one person make a decent argument without sounding like a stereotype. Wait, powerman did a song about you guys.
The band is decent, sure the stuff isn't nearly as good as it once was but its not bad. Staind, now thats a band that sold out. If you look at Powerman's history, they have always been about reinventing their music. I mean they first came out as a rap-rock group.
Anyone for doomsday was canceled because the lead singer didn't want to repeat the same industrial rock.
I think its actually respectable to reinvent yourself the way they did.
Keep on with the CD's. Computers crash, files and folders get corrupted. Give me something to play in my wife's car that doesn't have a jack for the i-pod.

They're not gonna do it, too many people are protesting about it. It could have been a record company thing, but I think he was trying to please fans or something...

Totally want a CD. Always been a Powerman fan :D
