The Dillinger Escape Plan has posted the latest webisode documenting the making of its new album, 'Ire Works' over on YouTube. If you missed the last one, you can watch that here.
The Dillinger Escape Plan recently entered the studio with producer Steve Evetts (Saves The Day, Earth Crisis, Sepultura) to begin recording its new album for a late 2007 release via Relapse. The upcoming CD will feature the drumming of Stolen Babies' Gil Sharone following the departure of Chris Pennie (he now plays drums with Coheed And Cambria). Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Saigon Whore", "Doll Keeper" and "Party Smasher".
"Know that what we are in the process of recording will be everything we have ever been capable of, and now more. This last year, and how we have gotten through it and to the place we are now, will define all of our lives for a long time. You will hear it in the music and words when you hear this album, and when you see us play live you will see the newfound energy that we now have from making it through all this together. There have been so many times when (Gil) has been playing and we just laugh because (what)he's doing is so out of control. You know when someone is so good at something you can't do anything but laugh? Well Gil is cracking us up. This guy is a SAVAGE. Drum tones sound monsterous, Steve Evetts is getting sounds Bonzo would rise from the grave for. We can't wait for you all to hear this."
Ire Works is scheduled to complete recording at the end of July, and release in October or early November, afterwhich they will play several dates in Germany with Meshuggah.

Can't wait for this one.
It's comforting to hear the band hold Sharone in such regard. I can't help but wonder how much of the drums will be Pennie and how much will be Sharone.
Either way, I've heard enough soundbytes already to go into purchasing this record with confidance.
