Scarlet Sins Announce New Drummer
Canadian all-female hard rock group Scarlet Sins announced today the addition of Elie Bertrand as their new drummer. This announcement follows six months of searching at home and abroad for the perfect band mate.
"Not only did we need someone with talent, but we also needed to find a drummer who understood and loved our music," said Scarlet Sins guitarist Cristina Bishop. "Elie exceeded all of our expectations."
Bertrand was born and raised in Montreal and has been playing drums since she was five years old. Not only does she play hard rock music, but she is also trained in jazz, funk, blues and latin grooves. She is now sponsored by Sibertdrum and has her own signature Los Cabos drumsticks.
"I'm really honoured to be part of the Scarlet Sins family," said Bertrand. "This project is exactly what I always wanted - a killer sound with three kick ass visionary women."
Having just finished the band's first photo shoot with legendary photographer Barrie Wentzell, Bertrand's first live appearance with Scarlet Sins will be in August.
This all-female quartet has been touring Ontario since 2004 and will be releasing their self-titled debut this fall. The album was produced, engineered and mixed by Richard Chycki (Rush, Aerosmith, Dream Theater's James LaBrie) at Vespa and Mixland Music studios, and mastered by Brett Zilahi (Nickleback,Alexisonfire) at Joao Carvalho Mastering.
Scarlet Sins is a rarity in the metal scene, conveying a progressive and heavy emotional sound.
