I used to be a big fan but I got kinda bored of them you can only listen to German vocals so many times, I tried to learn how to speak german because of these guys........it didn't work out

I agree with you Bastard_of_Bodom, but more towards the second half..I mean, by now, I can only sing their songs in German, but I have no intention of learning German anytime soon. lol.

I was the same way. Sehnsucht was the big album when I started listening, and I was in high school then. I took a copy of the lyrics to "Spiel Mit Mir" into my class so I could translate them, and it turned out the song was about going to bed with your brother. Dead serious. After that, I've never tried to translate much of their lyrics. But they ARE real fun to listen to. Except for Rosenrot. And half of Reise, Reise. Much love though, they're hardworking and painfully precise, and that goes pretty far in today's metal.

That's probably the worst song you could translate. Alter Mann from Sehnsucht is a great start. On the Reise, Reise album, there is a song called Dalai Lama. It's obviously got a dark theme, but it's sad. Check out www.herzeleid.com for lyrics and translations. German is a great language to learn, and I am semi fluent now, after 7 years of learning.

Good luck! And I can't wait for album #6 - not counting Live aus Berlin or Volkerball.

I enjoyed the hell out of Mutter.
Excellent album, far better than any of their other albums. Never checked out Rosenrot or Reise Reise beyond a few soundbytes.

Now Playing: Draconian - "Death Come Near Me"
