ok, ill critique it.
Their riffs are boring and more often then not quite redundant. The singing leaves alot to be desired, especially when you think about the lyrics (aka nonsense) this guy keeps ranting about and from watching the videos I get the feeling that they are made by a 39 year old child molestor.

I'm pretty sure redundant riffs is what Tom Morello is all about there. Audioslave used the same old Rage riffs time and again but still produced a fair product, and Rage was never that technically groundbreaking in their twilight years either (but they remained awsome, nevertheless). The Queens sounds is all about breaking free of the box, getting away from the traditional "verse chorus verse" style of writing, layering, and an overall aura of cool, that you may just have to be "cool" to get. This may be a problem for some *cough*. If you don't get it, don't listen. Save the elitest complaints about mundane music for the Bon Jovis of the world.

You may be "cool" but Queens abuse the Verse/Chorus/repeat method like they have a patent pending....Perhaps your thinking of the worng band...
It's rare that a band's best record is it's most popular. Songs for the Deaf was nothing to write home about but I could stand to be in the same room with it.
Rated R, Lullabies and Era Vulgaris are bad enough to warrant self mutilation. I know this because next to Jane's Addiction and the White Stripes -- Queens are the girlfriend's favorite band. She's at odds with my "crazy person" music too so car trips are always fun.
Nick Oliveri, Dave Grohl and Mark Lanegan gave the band some presence and heft but the band is completely unremarkable now. Everyone is entitled to their taste, but I think much of QotSA support comes from people who don't/can't find something of a similar nature that is less thrown together and cyclical.

I'm not too impressed with Queens but RATM will blow the doors off that place.
