Nightwish Under Investigation For Possibly Stealing New Single

According to Finland's MTV3, the new NIGHTWISH single "Eva" is currently under investigation by Teosto, the Finnish RIAA equivalent whose task it is to promote the rights of composers, lyricists, arrangers and music publishers, and to strengthen the diversity of Finnish composition. The chorus of the song is allegedly very similar to a track called "Whirlpool" by Jukka Reinivuo, a relatively unknown Finnish artist. In fact, the similarities are so great that allegations of plagiarism have already been thrown around.
NIGHTWISH keyboardist and composer Tuomas Holopainen has denied the accusation, saying that he just heard about this today (May 30) and that he has never heard the song or the artist in question. Holopainen went on to add that he was interested in hearing the track first before commenting further.

I heard very carefuly both of the songs and I think, that olny four verses are quite similar. But in my opinion mr. rayska wants to earn some money on new Nightwish's single. You now in polish radio there was a programm witch shows similar riffs in different metal songs. There ware much more exaples.

Hey, I never said that she couldn't sing. I'm sure a lot of people can sing better than me, and YOU for that matter. All I was trying to say is that the new lead singer looks like some tired old bar-whore who gets super-tanked on mojitos and finds the first guy with nice cologne on and goes home with him. I never questioned her ability to sing, but I bet she's worked overtime on the mechanical bull at Bootlegger's! Hardy har har!
Oh, and if I were a sh**ty finnish band, I would listen to what I could to see what sounds like me, and then hitch a ride to payday on their coattails. Shouldn't be too hard to do in a country that thinks Lordi qualifies as music.
