"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Project 86 Ready New Album, Plan Summer Tour

Tooth and Nail recording artists PROJECT 86 are now counting down the days to an extremely busy summer. Having just finished their sixth full-length album, Rival Factions which is slated for release on June 19th, the Orange County residents will spend the entire summer on the road playing to their fan base that is ten years strong, but sure to enlist many more along the way (dates below).

Project 86 will be heading to Chicago to join the Tooth and Nail Tour on June 5th alongside the likes of MxPx, Sullivan and The Classic Crime for a handful of dates. Then, Project 86 will headline their own tour with Showbread, Inhale/Exhale and Chasing Victory. Kicking off at Cincinnati's The Underground on June 16th, the Rival Factions tour will make its way as far east as Buffalo, NY, head south for two shows in North Carolina and then head back westward to close out the tour with a hometown show at Anaheim's House of Blues on July 6th.

From the Cure-ish swirl of "Old Wave" to the minor key stomp of "Death Before Dishonor" to the punk brashness of "Light 'Em Up", Rival Factions is an album that moves Project 86 out of the metal category and into mainstream rock. "This is the first album that we highlighted the keyboards," vocalist Andrew Schwab says. "Other than that, we haven't really evolved at all. We were always on the fringes of the different styles of rock. That afforded us the ability to evolve naturally into what we are. We have always existed in this space that doesn't sit with a particular genre or group, which wasn't necessarily intentional, but has been a blessing nonetheless."

Wait, is "holysh**" talking about the slef-titled album and Drawing Black Lines? DBL was amazing, but their debut really sucked. It pales compared to their new stuff.

Are you calling them p***ies? XD You should be calling Justin Timberlake that, not Project 86.

Unfortunately, none of those are songs on Rival Factions. But, Rival Factions is AMAZING!! And Project is an INCREDIBLE live band!! It's great that they're touring with Inhale Exhale.
