Korn Post New Single 'Evolution' Online

KORN's brand new single, "Evolution", has been posted on the band's MySpace page. The track was premiered on the Los Angeles radio station KROQ Wednesday (May 16), with KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu both present in the station's studio for the single's official launch.

"Evolution" comes off KORN's forthcoming eighth studio album, which due in late July.

In a new interview with MTV.com, Munky stated about the upcoming CD, "It's very musical," he explained. "I would compare it to [2002's] 'Untouchables'. It has a lot of highs and lows throughout it, and it's very gothic, I think. It kind of took on this whole gothic feel, which we didn't set out to do. When we were done with it, we sort of just sat back, and we were all kind of laughing about it, because it has that vibe throughout. I think our fans are going to be stunned by how heavy [the album] is, as far as an emotional sense. A lot of these songs are sad. But at the same time, some of the heaviest stuff we've ever done, musically, is on this record. There are moments here and there that are just tough. This one song, called 'Ever Be', just has this epic ending to it — like, imagine '300' set to song. It's crazy. Some of the stuff's very epic like that, and then pulls way back, so the dynamics on the record are very wide — from one extreme to the next, and all over the map."

So many ex-fans or w/e only see Korn as the Bag-piped, heavy, Scat growling, partially rap associated band they used to be.
Korn already stated they'd like to think of their new(old) album "See you on the other side" as their first. Think of them as a new band.

all the typical "haters" are like fan-boys when it comes to this, and its pathetic.
Alot of the time they are pretty much "Metal-Only" and don't listen to other music yet (if they ever learn to at all)

People never like to try new things or anything that puts them out of their routine comfort zones.

But, usually its adolescent children or the older isolated Metal-Onry fan-noobs, if not both. I mean, why can't a person just do it all and not give a f***. Even if you don't agree with the lyrics or views you can still listen to good music.

Go listen to some sh**tier, lesser bands out there, then come back when you have a much larger range of whats sh** and whats good.

ok megaman, I will treat Korn as a new band. Their album SYOTOS was mediocre, but the Unplugged album at least grew on me a little. This song is very boring, with very basic istruments and John's voice lacks energy imho. And please don't call me a typical fan boy hater who only listens to metal. I listen to quite a few genre's of music, and I at least gave this song a chance. Even if everyone pretended Korn was a new band, people would not like them. And considering the fact that the older Korn music is so much better, old fans are very disheartened by the new change in $tyle.

I still think that Korn where a legendary band back in the days, especially since they started their branch of metal and kind of refocused metal...but they lost it along the way (for me) and I just wish they would stop destroying what they built before.
