Katatonia is a really moving band. "The Great Cold Distance" is a favorite of mine as well. I was extremely upset when I missed their last tour here with Moonspell and Daylight Dies. Hopefully they come back soon. If you enjoy Katatonia, check out the band Callisto.

This bands vocalist has improved so much over the years. Drummer really brings the heavy jazzy feel to it too....
It's unfortunate he can't do the death vocals anymore (even just a tiny bit)...."The Great Cold Distance" is some of the best melancholy heavy rock out there...Not unlike Porcupine Tree's "In Absentia" Both of Riverside's albums and even Opeth here and there.
Great stuff, one of the best "progressive-almost-metal" albums I picked up last year.
