Chris Cornell Cites Reasons For Leaving Audioslave

Launch Radio Networks reports: Former AUDIOSLAVE frontman Chris Cornell told RollingStone.com on Friday (February 16) that he wasn't getting along particularly well with the other members of the band during the latter stages of their time together, saying, "Getting along as people is one thing. Getting along as a group of people that can work together in a band situation...We weren't particularly getting along well, no. Bands work in a way where everyone at some point has to have a similar idea of how you do things...Three albums into it, it started to seem like our interests weren't as conjoined anymore."
Cornell admitted that he hadn't spoken to the rest of the band in a few months, and that they heard about his departure from the group on Thursday (February 15), the same day he announced it publicly.
The singer said in a statement that "irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences" led him to leave AUDIOSLAVE after three studio albums, although his departure had been rumored since last summer.
Cornell will release his second solo album, titled "Carry On", on May 1.
The other members of AUDIOSLAVE — guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk — recently announced that their previous band, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, will reunite to perform at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in April.

I have to admit that I liked the first Audioslave CD, I even got the other two which weren't as good but had thier moments. But I saw Audioslave last year and you probably won't be surprised that the biggest reactions they got during thier show was when the did the RATM stuff. Cornell's voice is fine but I don't want to hear him do Rage stuff. Its like Staind doing Tool, it just shouldn't happen....

Audioslave made some good music together (mainly due to Chris Cornell), but I knew it wouldn't last long, Chris Cornell is by far - more talented. His time is done there, it's time to move on to better things. Was never a Rage fan, too political for me. .....Chris will do better without them....he never disappoints.....
