Children Of Bodom Ready To Record New Album

According to a posting on the CHILDREN OF BODOM fan site Scythes Of Bodom, frontman Alexi Laiho revealed at the Finnish Metal Expo this past weekend that the band will be going into the rehearsal room this week to begin working on material for its next album. If all goes well, the group will enter a Finnish studio following the summer festival season to begin recording the CD for a tentative early 2008 release.

CHILDREN OF BODOM was recently forced to cancel its appearance at the Desert Rock festival in Dubai, United Arab Emirates after Laiho "tripped at a bowling alley" and hurt his shoulder, preventing him from playing guitar for six weeks.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's "Chaos Ridden Years - Stockholm Knockout Live" DVD was recently certified gold in Canada. The disc, which debuted at No. 20 on the Canadian chart (the band's highest-ever chart position in Canada), mainly focuses on the February 5, 2006 live concert in Stockholm, Sweden, featuring over 90 minutes of live excitement. Finalizing the material on this super-packed DVD are two interviews/documentary-type films about the band's past, present and future directed by Yka Jarvinen (Indie Films OY), a "making of the DVD," and photo gallery.

COB I think will just get more popular as things go along and they will sell out at one time or another just like KORN did I can already see it coming I kept liking KORN because they ment soo much too me. Bodom, because of the style of music couldn't sell out if they tried. They're not radio friendly, and they can't be MTV wh*res. Alexi wouldn't stop shredding long enough to get regular rotation on either. Thrash metal, like it or not, will come back. But, like always, it won't be "flavor of the day" huge because radio and MTV won't allow that in the U.S.
