The ozzfest survery is like what bands do you like and how was your experience and everything. They have it every year so they can say that the fans picked the bands

yeah, but the fans dont pick anything that has to do w/ ozzfest. it is a money grabbing scheme by sharon and all its promoters. how many people really enjoy themselves at ozzfest???? im guessing w/ the way everything (including water) is priced and the fact that it takes place in the mid summer sweltering heat makes it a little bit irritating to some fans who dont have the extra 12 bucks for a bottle of water. Ozzfest is a joke. especially when there are so many better festivals now, like SOTU, Unholy Alliance, and that Megadeth tour (cant remember the name).

Gigantour is the tour you speak of. And I went to Sharonfest 2 years ago, and:
1. They try to cram too many bands in.
2. Too much MTV emo/screamo/flavor of the day fashion wh*r*s
3. Insane prices.
I like to think I went to one of the better ones(Hatebreed, Priest, Slayer, LoG, Slipknot, Dimmu) but the time wasted between the good bands isn't worth the $$$.

I agree with you metalmayhem that the fans don't REALLY pick the bands. I believe they do this so that people can think that they're being heard. People are are oblivious to what Sharon is doing have no idea. And the Megadeth tour is Gigantour. I went to it and the sound was absolutely horrible for every band. I think that they actually brought their own sound guy and speakers. I've been to the Congress Theatre many times and never saw the speakers they had their before. I was dissappointed really.

When it started (as with sooo (too) many things in metal) it was pretty good, improved and somewhere around 2000 the sh**ty bands began to seriously outnumber the good ones....

It has spiraled out of control since then, with maybe one or two decent lineups to break the otherwise sh**ty pattern year after year....Point is, I checked out 98 and 99 (ah the blessed teen years) on the strength of the ones before that and I havent been back since.

I know this won't happen because ozzfest is for sell outs but this is my idea ozzfest ( bands are in no particular line up)

second stage- all death metal all stars
nile, cannibal corpse, suffocation, behemoth, deicide, obituary, napalm death, with morbid angel headlining

main stage- bigger true metal bands
lamb of god, reunited sepultura, slayer, maiden, judas priest, venom
I know this will never happen but maybe we could all start metal undergroundfest and get all these bands hahaha.

I've kinda turned my back on OZZSharonfest. Since I found out that bands have to pay to be a part of it, that ruined it for me. The more you pay, the better your time slot and the stage you play on. What happened to being into a band and asking them to tour? I did however enjoy the fests that I've seen....
Melvins, SoulFly, Slayer, Down, Q.O.T.S.A. hell, can't even remember 'em all....

I would be extremely p***ed if Underoath was on Ozzfest! Horse The Band too, but to a lesser extent. I wouldn't get p***ed off, just disspointed. I'd like to see Meshuggah on Ozzfest, I haven't seen them yet and really want to. Actually I'd prefer to see them on a normal tour but I don't know what the f*** they're doing. And how about for this year we don't have f***ing retard bands like Bad Acid Trip. They were absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I wish I went to 2004. Damn it.

I'll agree with that - SOAD and Disturbed didn't cut it. Not as headliners and not in general. Their previous Ozzfest performances dwarfed last year's headlining performances. Most of the Ozzfests I've been to have been in the 2000s unfortunately, but I've enjoyed every single one. Last year's was clearly the worst of them though. Bands I'd really love to see on the fest that I think deserve it and would be a good fit (not just a shot in the dark) are Anthrax, Testament and Machine Head. That would make a great start for 2007's lineup!

Second Stage: Soulfly(or reunited Sepultura), Testament, Iced Earth, Nevermore, Anthrax, Annihilator, King Diamond, Behemoth, GWAR, Mastodon, Satyricon, Mayhem, Obituary, Nile, Autopsy and Machine Head.

The ozzfest would so much better if they preforming bands got a percentage of profits, like ticket profits. They should also lower all merchendice, or how ever its spelled, costs not all of us can afford a $12 can of MD and a $50 concert shirt. Also, most new rock/metal are to commercial to ever be considered a "band." Ozzfest is barely a concert any more, its like burning cash with a sh**y radio playing in the background.

Comment 29:
1.) With all those bands, they wont get a decent amount of stage time.
2.) Yea right, like all the good bands would actually play all together at one ozzfest
3.) Do you realize how much ticket prices would go up with bands like that (Metallica, BLS, Disturbed, COF, Priest, Godsmack, and bands like that)
4.) Sellout within the 1st month!
