Vinnie Paul's New Band Named Hell Yeah

Band Photo: Mudvayne (?)
Former Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul has confirmed that his new band has been officially dubbed Hell Yeah.
The lineup also features Chad Gray (Mudvayne) on vocals, Greg Tribbett (Mudvayne) on guitar, Tom Maxwell (Nothingface) on guitar, Jerry Montano (Danzig, Nothingface) on bass.
In a recent interview with BW&BK, Paul was tight-lipped about the topic: "I mean, I can't really say what's going on, but I've got some stuff I'm working on right now, some people who've been really, really cool and a lot of fun to work with. And we're just kind of keeping everything under wraps." Expect an album from Hell Yeah to surface early next year via Paul's label, Big Vin Records.
An audio sample from HellYeah is currently streaming at the group's new MySpace page.

I agree that the name is really corny but like I said in another thread, the name isn't anything. But I think this band will be interesting and hopefully amazing, there is a sh!t load of experience between all the members. And Chupacabra_hunter Mudvayne hasn't wore facepaint in a long a$$ time, so no I really REALLY doubt that they'll wear facepaint, especially Vinnie. lol

All of the good band names were taken a VERY long time ago. I think HELL YEAH! Is a much better name then "Death Cab For Cutie" or "The Mars Volta." Granted, they may (never heard Death Cab before) good, but the names are nonsensical. Could be VERY badass, but I need to hear the whole thing before I form my opinion. Vinnie is one of the most down to earth people around, just like Dime was, so I'll give it a shot....

I just think it is strange that vinnie is involved with guys who were part of the horrible nu metal thing, you know...mudvayne wore facepaint when other bands did then when it became not cool they took it off...well they started to wear some alien mask eyeball things...its just kinda saddens me that people constantly change their image while searching to be accepted,I mean come on even tuff guy zach wyld used to wear hairspray like those chicks in poison, and know it some tuff guy biker dude cause thats whats cool now.

Oh damn, I just went to the site and listented to it, and while the music was really great on start, the song was totally trendy and was obviously meant to be their first single, sort-of like lamb-of-gods recent "Redneck" track. That song was made for radio as much as Mudvaynes Determined, a quick beat catchy tune to get the word out.

Chupacabra_hunter:
You have to acknowledge that any person who's part of a scene or style commits to it. If you're in a band that plays a kind of music then you dress the part-its the nature of the job. The Ramones are no different than Motley Crue who were no different than the Ohio Player or Journey-they all dress the part. That's part of your job as a musician-you are an entertainer. Brian Setzer (or what ever his name is) from the Stray Cats is a BAD a$$ guitar player, it doesn't really matter that he wears that stupid 50's get up.
Mudvayne wanted to add an element to their performance but they weren't Kiss-Mudvayne COULD really play. I think its time to look past the theatrics and give them credit for being good musicians and songwriters. They wanted to add an edge to their performance by wearing make...so what?

All the members are awesome. I like all the groups equally. Chad is one of the best vocalists around. And why do people have to catorgarize groups so much. I mean it is f***in' lame. I mean if a group is good then it is good. And everybody likes different sh**. So how is one thing you like and maybe i don't like it. But i am not going to bash you or the group for it. Quit being haters. I love MuDvAyNe and love PanterA but not to familiar with Nothingface. Only heard a little bit. But i liked what i heard. CAn't wait for more..

i dont like any of these guys. the only reason im even leaving a damn comment is because i used to be really into mudvayne. but f uck these guys. they suck. i heard their damn song on myspace and it was the sound of total chaos. personaly id rather hear my sh** plopping in the cool, blue water of my toilet than listen to these guys.

i agree with Renetta on #59 ^^....even though the song sucks and the name is still really stupid, i think Vinnie is just trying to make his bro happy with this new thing he has going. i mean really. when you think about it, if Dime were still alive today, he would be soooo dissapointed in most of these comments, including the one i left earlier. i think Vinnie is just trying to make up for the huge loss he feels for Dime. we all do. and we should just respect the fact that Vinnie is doing his best.
even though it sucks the biggest harry ballsack on the earth...

I am so sick of this term called nu-metal. Metal is metal. If it fu ckin' rocks then it f***in' rocks. Quit putting a label on every fu ckin' thing. If it were you in the band you posers that are hating on everything would be like "That's the best name ever" So give it up and just give the music a chance. I have been into metal for over 30 years now and i love it all. No hating, Just liking some more than others.
64. writes:
uh travlow1, if you've been listening to metal for over 30 years then you would realize that sub-genres form. It's all about evolution of music and genres get put together and develop a different sound. And Red_Chord I'm sure it is the recording. I actually would've expected a better recording but I'm sure it's just a demo. It's all good, I'd like to hear another new song to compare.

69. writes:
um.. Stabbing the drama, I do realize that there are different classifications that people label all these groups. But when it comes down to it. Metal is metal. I mean c'mon these fu cking gay labels that people make up is just pathetic. There is different kinds of metal for all generations. like the so called "Butt Rock" That is just a gay term. It is metal. A different type of metal so be it. But it is metal. No hating here just trying to make my point.
70. writes:
I respect your opinion on that but I just think it's better to have sub-genres so that it can define music more. But some bands get put into wrong categories and if a band like Underoath is being called metal, personally, I don't like it. I consider them an emo/scremo type band.
72. writes:
Anyone who knows a damn thing about music knows that there will always be sub-genres. AND THERE HAS TO BE.... because someone who listens to Doom Metal might not give two $hits about Rob Zombie or Hell Yeah. You know what i mean? They all sound different, even though they all can completely f ucken rock. We need to have these sub-genres to be able to differentiate the talent of America's Metal music creators. Its like Underoath, who was just mentioned previously, they can rock, but they suck so much a$$ I don’t think anyone would care.(just an opinion). But on the other hand, Vinnie has had some crazy a$$ $hit he's done over the years that sounds good, and he sounds nothing alike. So why in the hell would you categorize him in the same genre as them? Does anyone else know what I mean by all this?

76. writes:
look i know this is a page about vinnie and muddy its the only page i can write in, so f*** u if you're gonna complain. i'd just like to say that system of a down is a great band, and i find it ridiculous that fans of an anti conformist music conforming into an image. system of a down is officially mallcore, and that is not an insult! power to the mallcores!!!!!!!!! well, at least alternative metal.

79. writes:
if bands didn't change and different people didn't collaborate and go new directions kirk hammett would never have left exodus and we wouldn't have had the great albums from metallica before they started to suck....hear the whole album and if you don't like it....don't listen to it anymore...it's just good to see vinnie making music again.

83. writes:
erm wuld people quit dissing mudvayne if vinnie thought that they had no tallent he probbly wuld have said no tnx to the whole idea and just be cause they used face paint for one album dont make them kiddy ld50 is a amazing album it f***s with ure head a lot defintly not somthing for kids lost n found yeah thats a load of sh** and it is kiddy. but this band shuld be f***ing awsome mabi they will bring back real metal and smash this whole emo scene back to where it belongs i really hope that is one of the many things they will probbly acomplish im gunna check out the song

87. writes:
If theres one thing that 'That Guy' has for a good arguement, its the fact that we metal lovers need something to kick emo a$$ out there in the music world. It's so full of emo $hit now and days. It's like, you'll be in the car and hear this pretty cool guitar riff on the radio, and you'll be getting into it, and all of a sudden this whiny (someone please kick me in the one nut i have left) voice comes along and fuken ruins it! I HATE EMO! Does anybody feel the same way here? We need more metal now!!!

89. writes:
I definitely agree with what you're saying. Like at first I thought BFMV's music was good till he started singing. I love harmonics. The song I heard was 4 Words to choke upon or something. Then after I heard the singing I knew he probably wasn't having words to choke upon. lol just a joke. But yeah emo needs to get the f*** outta here.

98. writes:
Why don't you go f***ing listen to them instead of asking what they sound like. It'd be a lot easier and you can make your own judgement about them you. Only you know what you like so somebody could tell you something completely different from what you think.

99. writes:
to anti hippy...
Why would you even ask that question.?? Could Nothingface be a boyband like Nsync.??..or maybe a marriachi band.?? Maybe they are a fu^kin polka band that has alot of metal influences and thats why these guys are friends with Vinnie Paul..
Its more than obvious that they are a metal band isnt it.? Like STD suggested, maybe you should just listen to them...that way you wouldnt look like a moron, asking such ignorant questions.!!!
By the way...I personally think SOAD sucks donkey c*ck.!!!
the aformentioned comments are only my opinions..
100. writes:
lmfao...totaly right "godlike"....if nothingface wasnt a metal band, why the f uck would he be included with vinnie? its not like vinnie got real f ucked up and went "hey, why dont i put a metal band together with a bunch of guys who know nothing about it?!? YESSSSS!!!" personally, i dont like nothingface. btu thats my oppinion.but as for SAOD.... i completely agree. major donkey schlong, sucked dry.

103. writes:
This is going to be great- Chad can sing\scream, Greg can make up some weird riffs, Vinnie rules, and dunno about Nothingface but the music on that myspace page sounds great!
To all the 'haters'...
Stop trying to label it so much. They're doing what they want to do, and it sounds original, sub-genres are pretty much retarded because they're just like society and racism- they split up a mass of something into little things so people can pick on the stuff they don't like. I don't think like that. I don't hate "all nu metal and emo music", I pick bands I like and pick bands I don't like. It doesn't matter what group they're in, what matters is if it sounds good. One group can't be ALL bad, just some bands that you might've heard in the subgenre turned out to be a bunch of ballsucking retards that play guitars with their elbows or something. Mudvayne is metal, I haven't heard any other band even remotely similar to them, so there's no subgenre for them, they're just metal, their own kind!
Ok, i'm done. Anyways,
Hell Yeah is gonna kick ass!
