South Carolina's Nile have completed work on their third album, In Their Darkest Shrines
Heralded death metallers Nile have completed work on their third full-length album, In Their Darkened Shrines with producer Bob Moore at Soundlab Studios in Columbia, South Carolina.
"The new material is Nile's strongest yet! All the elements of the 'Nile sound' are intact yet the songs have reached a new level of intensity," guitarist/founder and principal songwriter Karl Sanders stated. "We have a lot of new sounds and a more sophisticated/realized/developed level of composition and structure."
In Their Darkened Shrines will be the first album with Nile's new line-up, drummer Tony Laureno and bassist/vocalist Jon Vesano, and it appears with new blood in the band, Nile rejuvenated.
"We're very excited to record with our new lineup." continued Sanders. "Our collective goal is to create a record that will eclipse many people's preconception of what is possible within the Death Metal idiom."
In Their Darkened Shrines complete song listing is: "The Blessed Dead," "Execration Text," "Kheftiu Asar Butchiu," "Wind of Horus," "In Their Darkened Shrines (Parts I-IV)," "Sarcophagus," "Churning the Maelstrom," "I Whisper In the Ear of the Dead" and "Unas Slayer of the Gods."
Nile's In Their Darkened Shrines is scheduled for an late summer 2002 release on Relapse Records. Look for the band this summer on tour with Arch Enemy, Hate Eternal and Origin.
