Van Halen Bassist: More The Other Half Photos

VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony has posted a number of photos from his recent tour with Sammy Hagar as THE OTHER HALF. Check them out at this location.

In addition to Anthony and Hagar, THE OTHER HALF includes WABORITAS guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer David Lauser. Hagar recently told Launch that Michael Anthony has been liberated by this move, and he also said THE OTHER HALF is better than VAN HALEN right now. "He's kinda been chopped up over the years, you know, so now we took all those pieces that have been chopped up from different tours and put 'em all together, and he does this awesome bass solo," Sammy said. "And then we bust into about 10-12 VAN HALEN songs. For the hardcores that gotta have it, we're gonna give you THE OTHER HALF's version, which is basically closer to the record than (laughs) what the last VAN HALEN tour was, unfortunately."

I find it very interesting that, The other half is still a band intended on making a reference to the the Van Halen brothers. Sure it suck's that Eddie and Alex are choosing to retreat but making up new bands won't get them back on the road any faster!! David Lee is doing the same thing, but until the important half comes out to play, none of this will matter. It's a shame though because Def leppard and Bon Jovi are still packing them in and the quality of the music doesn't even compare. Eddie, Alex if yall are out there, Call david lee and sammy hagar and tell them to keep jamming and quit whining!!

David Lee Roth is still the best to ever front VH....the guy is so egotistical and self centered that its OK... Ive always thought EVH was a little conceited and over rated.....there were at the time and still are ALOT of better guitarists out there..
I am glad to see that Sammy and Michael Anthony are out making music....let the VH brothers sit home and admire themselves a little longer.....
Sammy Hagar should have stayed as a solo act to begin with....He released some kick a$$ music before VH... even all the way back to the 70s with Montrose.( that is where Sammy Hagar got his start.) Sammy was singing for Montrose when he was 19....some good old R&R there...!!!!!

no sh!t....I actually kind of liked his attitude tho...."It doesnt matter if you win or lose..its how you look playing the game.." the words of DLR.!!!!! ...I like the guy...I dont care what anybody thinks of him.... and the tunes he did with VH a few yrs back. like Me Wise Magic...that tune kicked A$$..!!! Too bad they cant leave their egos at home and record some more new music....the first few VH albums were ECXELLENT..not that radio ready sh*t with Sammy..nothing against Sammy cause as I said I loved his solo stuff....Standing Hampton is a fantastic album....sorry CD...guess Im old..!!!

Sammy is fantastic in concert and I like when he does some Van Halen tunes. He co-wrote them so he certainly has the right to play them. The problem is Eddie who is clearly nuts. I think Van Halen should do a tour with both Dave and Sammy and play the whole history of Van Halen. The early stuff with Dave is classic and Sammy kicked ass, particularly on the 5150 album. Now I hear that Eddie wants to kick out Michael Anthony and have his son Wolfgang play bass. That will truly suck I'm sure since his "jam" with Eddie on the last tour was awful.

I think Eddie is sick of the BS. Remember that being in a band is ike a marriage, and no one in their right mind would want to deal with Sammy or DLR for more than five minutes-for the fans or anyone else. It would be cool in Eddie and Al just did a non commercial solo project...

I think as professionals, they should all leave their attitudes at home and just play some music. I miss Van Halen. If Wolfgang is doing something with the Band, release something because they have talent in their DNA. Roth, Hager, Van halen, Anthony, come on guys, play some music.

Sammy has even mentioned in some interviews over the summer that he and Michael are still friendly with Alex and Alex WANTED to sit in with "The Other Half" at a few shows but he knew it would piss Eddie off..let's face it folks, Eddie has lost it, and I don't think anything will bring him back..best to just retire the "Van Halen" name...
