In a recent interview with New York magazine, GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose explained what's been holding up the release of the oft-delayed "Chinese Democracy", an album he's spent more than a decade working on. "It's not about being a control freak," he said. "It's about being maybe smart enough to go, 'No, that's a bad idea.' That's all it's about — keeping the ability to at least have a shot as opposed to something that's just an obvious disaster. I want to make a good record. I don't want to throw a brick. This cannot be Shaq at the free-throw line." Rose added that the disc will surface before the end of 2006.

GUNS N' ROSES' "Greatest Hits" collection, which was originally issued in March of 2004, was certified triple-platinum on April 11, 2006 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of three million copies. The CD sold more than 11,000 copies in the United States last week alone (week ending September 10), bringing the total number of copies sold since its release to 3.16 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

i saw the new gnr in prague, with Izzy. And it f***ing rocked. Axl's voice is fine, he sitll hits the notes. Even though Slash is a great stage presence with his hair, ciggie, and hat, and rock n roll demeanor, it's not like his guitar skills are unreplaceable. GnR's current lineup nailed every solo, every lick, and with Izzy rockin the rythym (he did write most of the catalogue after all, not slash), it was a f***ing bad a$$ show. Nostalgia nostalgia, the old GnR would be awesome... but if Axl's singing, and Izzy is rocking, and Dizzy is on the keyboards, come on it's not that far from the original. Get a clue people....
