Poland's Yattering appear to have illegally split from their Season of Mist contract

Lauded Polish death metallers Yattering appear to have illegally split from their Season Of Mist contract just prior to the release of their third full-length album, Genocide.

"Technical and Contractual difficulties has forced Season of Mist to postpone the release of Yatterings Genocide until further notice," stated Season Of Mist on their website. "All promotional activities are put on hold! Yattering recorded their third album called Genocide already, but stole the master tapes from the studio. They then recorded another low budget album called III, a techno album with Death Metal vocals, something utterly ridiculous that they sent us trying to make it pass for the recording we paid for. They are now trying to sell the "real" master tapes to another label. Of course our lawyers are on the case, as we have the law on our side. Of course, do not expect the real Genocide to be released anytime soon on another label, as this would constitute piracy. This might be turn into a long procedure but there's no doubt about the outcome. In the meantime, don't expect to hear much more from Yattering"

The main reason for dispute seems largely over distribution in Poland. Season Of Mist wanted to change from Mystic Productions to Metal Mind, but in the event of doing so, the label found out that Mystic acted as manager for Yattering. Yattering themselves apparently didn't want to lose face, but since Season Of Mist and Mystic Production's relationship had disintegrated, the choice was obvious. According to Season Of Mist, after changing distributors, Yattering acted inappropriately by cancelling high-profile tours and issuing the label unacceptable material for their third album.
