Coldworker Drummer Issues New Studio Update With Photos
COLDWORKER, featuring former NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson, are currently in the studio working on the band's debut album, entitled The Contaminated Void. The band is recording the album by themselves to be mixed by Dan Swanö and mastered by Peter In de Betou. The album will include 14 tracks and a 15th track on the Japanese edition. Jakobson has posted this latest studio report at the band's website:
"The second week was slightly shorter working-wise due to the annual Hultsfred festival in Sweden. Anders B (Bertilsson - guitars) went there as early as Tuesday and I went back and forth on Friday. But we managed to record some stuff anyway.
On Monday we continued tracking the guitar. As mentioned above, Anders B had to finish his guitars as fast as possible due to the Hultsfred trip so we scheduled two sessions with him and one with André in the middle.
New studio photos are available at this location.
So Anders managed to track all his songs plus a solo on Monday which André (Alvinzi - guitars) tracked six tracks leaving only the 'easy' ones for Tuesday.
Tuesday began with André tracking all his remaining tracks. Then we did a photo session with Robert Johansson, known for a lot of Nasum photos. We started with some shots on a location just a few meters from the Coldworker Studios. Then we went out on the countryside and tried a little walking set up along with some more normal shots. After that we concluded the photo session with some shots in an alley and under the shadow of a large factory pipe (or whatever).
We returned to the 'studio' (when I write Coldworker Studios, it's really our rehearsal room) and Anders B left for Hultsfred and André tried to record some solos, but never really got anything down that satisfied him. The day ended and so did the guitar recording for this week.
On Wednesday we re-started recording the bass. As mentioned in the first diary, we recorded a few songs in the wrong tuning so we had to start all over with the bass. This time it was much better and Oskar (Pålsson - bass) got a few songs down on this first session.
There were a first vocal session scheduled as well but as I was feeling quite ill, being struck buy an untimely cold, I called it off, and had a break from the studio sessions for three days.
On Sunday, this short recording week ended with another bass session and (singer) Joel's (Fornbrant) first session in the studio. He's been waiting for a long time to join the fun, and while at it, he pulled off three songs before the day and week ended."
