Slayer's European Tour Dates, New Album Title Revealed: "The Final Six"

Band Photo: Slayer (?)
Tom Araya said in an interview with CBC's "The Hour" that the new album will be called "The Final Six." As previously reported, the album is due out July 25th. "The Final Six" is the first new studio album since 1990's "Seasons In The Abyss" that features the entire original SLAYER lineup (drummer Lombardo left the band in 1992 and rejoined in 2003). Rick Rubin, who helped solidify the much-emulated SLAYER sound beginning with their genre-defining 1986 classic "Reign In Blood", was executive-producer, and Josh Abraham (KORN, VELVET REVOLVER, ATREYU) produced it.
The (unconfirmed) tracklisting has been reported to be as follows:
01. Cult
02. Consfearacy
03. Flesh Storm
04. Jihad
05. Eyes of the Insane
06. Black Serenade
07. Supremist
08. Skeleton Christ
09. Catatonic
10. Final Six
11. Catalyst
The song "Cult" can be streamed in its entirety at Slayer.net. The lyrics and tablature for the album's first single "Cult" are now online at Slayerized.com.

deathbringer: really uncool that you would post the name of our workplace.. isn't that a breech of privacy? We are just here to read the articles and comment on the one we find interesting, and you go an put the name of our workplace.. just because you assume we are all the same person.. not very professional if you ask me... now back to why we are all here.. MUSIC!!

OK, my bad. I removed your company name. When I see several comments on a thread all basically bashing or saying something similar coming from the same IP address, it looks an awful lot like spam. Given the a$$hole 14 year olds spamming up the place lately, I am not very tolerant of spam, copy-paste posting or impersonations/user spoofing.

Let me explain it like this. We are 4 individual people. We are all friends.. and three of them work together. We email eachother all day long, and when one of us posts, we tell the others…… then the rest of us can go and comment…. Etc…… it is very entertaining……. And not spam at all. ?

graveland, well we've had anti-slayer spammers and anti-korn spammers, so there's no winning. Some kids just have no lives. And instead of taking the time to go through this site and find new bands and music to check out, they waste it bashing and spamming repetetive crap.
lorlor, I get it. I was just telling you why it looked like spam to me.

BACK TO TOPIC!!!!
"The Final Six" is an interesting choice - do you think it could be referring to the "number of the beast" [ 666/616/whatever it is these days ] ?? I don't know if those numbers are supposed to stand for something, or what for, or anything like that, though, so if it IS referring to the beast's number, what does it MEAN?? as I said, interesting choice...

TO psythe:- YOU'RE RIGHT-"THE FINAL SIX" HMMPH............MAYBE IT WAS THE 6TH OF JUNE THE FINAL DATE WHEN WITH ALL THE STARS IN ALIGNMENT AS WELL AS THE CALENDAR.THE BIRTH OF THE ANTICHRIST WOULD HAPPEN ETC.MAYBE THE SONG IS ABOUT HOW LONG SATAN HAS AWAITED THIS STELLAR EVENT LIKE THE FINAL JIGSAW PIECE NOW IN PLACE.A SONG ABOUT HIS 2000+ YEAR BATTLE WITH ANGELIC HOSTS.I DON'T BELIEVE IN THIS sh** BUT I LIKE THE IMAGERY AND FOLKLORE.

Geez you have to be from Chicago Korndork. Probably a card carrying member
of the Disturbed street team what a nerd. You should go to myspace and check out
some bands from your area like Forest Of Impaled, Grand Belials Key, Torg, Psychomancer
(close they live in Michigan City In), you have a real metal scene up there take advantage of it.

regarding post 18 by RAE RAE, if you use this site to look up bands you like, then do that and dont leave posts on pages which are dealing with bands you dont like. You wont see me going to someother bands page on metalunderground saying that they suck, its just rude. Keep that stuff to yourself and let those of use who like Slayer comment on how much they kick ass. peace.

slayer is the f***ing sh!t....people who dont like slayer, can keep it to themselves. i for one love old school metal, and thats what slayer is, old school f*kin metal. so you d***less worms can go crawl in your fake trendy weak music and rot from the inside out. slayer has done something for 20 plus years you slayer bashers could never do. Kick f*cking a$$ and scare some people!

60. writes:
yeah, kelly's got the right idea. If a band's been around for 20 years like Slayer has, then you know they gotta be doing something right. Bands come and go, but Slayer's stuck around and never sold out. All the slayer bashers here need to grow the f*ck up and respect thy elders damnit!

irrivative drivell, music is composed on multiple levels and planes, et al aesthetic, structural, etc. to judge a band on opinion is the height of human arrogance. chord progression, templates and theory help exponentionaly, however merit and the means to an end is the pentultimate governance. dave lombardo , with concurrent return, will add to the overall gestalt of the new album . corpus edimus, ave satnans.

I happen to love all sorts of music, whether its Slayer, Fear Factory, KoRn or even some commercial crap that's been on the radio (yes I know.. shoot me now) But I'm rather awaiting Slayers new album with baited breath.. if it's anything like God Hates Us All (which I'm sure it will be), I'll be happy =o)
