Avenged Sevenfold Confirmed For U.K.'s Download Festival

According to VirtualFestivals.com, Orange County, California's AVENGED SEVENFOLD have been added to the lineup of this year's Download festival, joining headliners TOOL, METALLICA, and GUNS 'N ROSES, plus dozens more.

The three-day rock festival takes place at Castle Donington, Leicestershire, England over the weekend of June 9-11 June.

Discussing the prospect of the band's Download debut, AVENGED SEVENFOLD singer M. Shadows said: "Sharing the stage with such legends is an honour beyond our words, especially when it's as massive as Download."

Now in its fourth year, Download 2006 boasts one of its best lineups to date with three massive headliners, plus TRIVIUM, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, THE PRODIGY, KORN, DEFTONES, ALICE IN CHAINS, ARCH ENEMY, INME, and many, many more.

More bands are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, all playing over three main arenas, plus a few in the infamous skate bowl.

They used to be great, cant stop playin' their first couple of albums even a few years on, but unfortunately due to vocal/medical problems they just cant do that material anymore so theyve had to tow the line and move mainstream.... a pale reflection of their former tunes :o(
