Unearth To Headline Second Stage Of Ozzfest 2006
Alternative Press recently spoke with Unearth guitarist Ken Susi about the recording of his band's new album and left the conversation with this exclusive piece of information: The Boston-based metal monsters will be headlining the second stage of this year's Ozzfest.
"We're playing something like third-to-last on the bill or something; yeah, we're basically headlining the second stage," reveals Susi.
Ozzfest organizers have not announced any other bands confirmed for the 2006 run, but Unearth aren't unfamiliar with the tour, having played its second stage in 2004.
Susi informed AP that the tour will again run from the beginning of July through the end of August as in years past, but offered no insight to any other bands confirmed for the trek.

Jeopardy suuuuccckkks!! Anyone who likes that show is a homosexual!! The Wheel is the only "true" game show. Sorry, I guess I got caught up in the neverending hatefest on these comment boards. I forgot to spell words wrong and not use punctuation, I'll get this right sooner or later.

post number 10 you can suck a big c***. The only thing good about A7X is the guitar solos and that's it. Unearth kicks ass! I saw them with Slipknot and AILD and it was a great show but I think that Unearth was a hell of a lot better then AILD! Hopefully we'll get more good bands at Ozzfest. Get rid of A7X and Atreyu atleast for OZZFEST! This is the festival for METAL not p***y bands!

post 13....opeth does NOT suck
next, unearth is a step in the right direction from keeping ozzfest from becoming a sharronfest.
i understand that they have to appeal to other crowds to get money(enter emo kids) which is why these sh**ty bands are being offered slots.
PERFECT LINE-UP:
MAIN STAGE:
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY
IRON MAIDEN
BLACK SABBATH
SLIPKNOT(because the main stage is far from where you sit and i could go see a better band during that show)
DARK TRANQUILITY
CHILDREN OF BODOM
SECOND STAGE(where the action's at):
SATYRICON
CRADLE OF FILTH
TRIVIUM
UNEARTH
KITTIE
THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER
MUDVAYNE
IN FLAMES{except they dont want to do ozzfest aain :( }
CHIMAIRA
AMON AMARTH
LAMB OF GOD
HIMSA
NOW THATS A KICK a$$ LINEUP..none of this "___core( the ___standing for the things like emocore...that horsesh**), emo sh**"

wow a good band at ozzfest who would have thought...but then again there are 100 of other band similar to this band and can play better and harder...so good luck on this sh**fest...
...because there is enough sh**y bands at ozzfest let alone your pathetic excuse for music a taste!!!!!!
f*** you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah..most of the above mentioned by you people are good ideas, the only band i wouldn't concider is slipknot. yes they are talented, and yes i was a huge fan until Vol.3 The Sublimenal Verses was released. There are sh**ty acoustic songs on that album, and i think, that if they EVER make a new album(not that i'd get it as soon as it hit the shelf)it'd better be like the iowa album.
but for those who havnt bought Vol.3 yet, i would recommend downloading it, although there are like 2 good songs on it, its just not quite worth the money

to post number 7, your a f*cking idiot. all you do in every thread is talk sh*t about every band. Do you think everybody sucks, cause thats all you b*tch about. Dude, shut the F*CK UP because nobody gives a sh** about your f*ckin opinion. Unearth f*cking rule \m/

heh.
The thing about Unearth is they're pretty deft musicians, it's just that each song is way too samey. Like Hatebreed with a little more melody and touch more speed, more metal than hardcore though....
I have to say that I was pretty impressed with a couple of their songs ("The Great Dividers" being the one I remember by name) but I couldn't listen to the album all the way thru without a break....They have the intensity thing nailed they just need to broaden their sound a bit.

Every is b****ing about how A7X and Atreyu shouldn't be on Ozzfest.. well you can all go to hell.. they are more hard a$$ and metal then you p***ys ever will be.. I bet none of you will even show up at ozzfest.. you'll just sit around your computers b****ing about it

Ozzfest 2000 and 2001 are neck and neck for worst lineup....That was the height of Nu-Metal though....1997-99 were decent if you factor in acts like The Melvins, Tool, The Deftones, Slayer, Pantera and Neuroisis....
In all fairness, Ozzfest has gotten slightly better these last two years...Unfortunately it's still a far cry from the SOTU tour.

Chill man, your getting too angry if u dont like it then just dont go simple as that, dont keep b****ing about it.
But Unearth is awsome. Im going for the 2nd stage basically, atreyu, bleeding through and such. Id really like to see Every Time I Die and Trivium added to the line-up tho.
