Korn's 'Greatest Hits' Certified Platinum

KORN's "best of" album, "Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" (Immortal/Epic), featuring highlights from the first 10 years of the band's recording career, has been certified platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of one million copies.
In addition to KORN's biggest songs, "Greatest Hits" also includes two covers — a remake of CAMEO's "Word Up" and a medley of PINK FLOYD's "Another Brick In The Wall, Parts 1, 2, & 3".
As previously reported, KORN's latest CD, "See You on the Other Side", is expected to sell just over 200,000 copies in its first week of release to capture the No. 3 slot on next week's The Billboard 200 chart (right behind EMINEM's greatest-hits collection, "Curtain Call", and fellow rapper LIL' WAYNE's "Tha Carter II").

Korn has had some good songs, I'll admit....Pretty much every song post 7 mentioned and maybe half a dozen others, were very interesting if not impressive....
I can't bring myself to call them metal, but there WAS..some metal in their sound....Well, as we all know --that-- is gone forever, but their lyrics have been pretty embarrassing long before they lost the heavy.
At least, once upon a time they were an original sounding band, they've earned the recognition even if theres 5000 other bands who are more talented.

Korn began inching that way with Follow The Leader, and they've now completed the transition fully. See You On The Other Side is by far the most tepid, radio-friendly piece of crap this band has ever produced. Maybe it was the turmoil of their new record deal. Maybe it was the loss of Brian "Head Welsh", or maybe it's just a cash grab; but whatever the case, Korn has recorded the worst album of their career.

I know, when I was 14-16 I was a screaming little ball of hate and when I started getting laid on a semi-regular basis and eventually got a girlfriend everything seemed to work out.
Most of that childish rage (aka holding huge grudges, picking fights with someone who made a remark about me being a skater-kid, or having long hair) kind of gets lost in the shuffle..... to the point where you can laugh in the faces of those you hate and leave them puzzled or p***ed off....
I once was being picked on by some jerk for wearing Pantera and ...heh... Korn shirts and one day I was out in the school parking lot, skating with my friends and gf at the time and as he passed he made some remark about me being the "King of skater fags".
Six monthes earlier I'd have probably gotten in a fight that I would have lost.
Instead, I tastelessly pulled my girlfriend to my side and said: "We f***ed last night!"...It was all I could think of, it's hard to be witty on the spot. My friends were roaring and the a$$hole even managed to crack a grin. Oddly he and his friends stopped picking on me after that, but I had stopped caring about them the second I was dating this girl.
Moral of the story: f*** buddies make life great!...My advice is make a sincere effort to get one.
Somethings, like an irrational hatred for a band or it's members gets disrupted by being happy with the way things are going......Sex doesnt solve problems, and sometimes creates new ones.....But getting laid does make the world feel more livable.
What I'm basicly saying is go out and get f***ed and forget about Korn, life will get better.

Well, I'm glad to know someone admits attacking character... that's not cool. I guess sometimes I'm a bit guilty of the same. Wow....that Nu-metal outcast list is pretty complete.....That was entertaining.
I always thought of Poison the Well as melodic hardcore though....Other than that, the list is pretty dead on.
I laughed out loud when I saw the Videodrone track. A friend of mine used to blast that song all the f***ing time, he kept telling me they were the next big things but they turned out to be some pet band of Korns that never went anywhere.
One Minute Silence has a f***ing bad a$$ song called "Holy Man" that I still have on my computer to this day....Was never impressed by any other song by that band.
Diecast is likely to be a Linkin Park type band with the direction they're going.
I wonder how many of those bands are still together, I know most of em have disbanded.

The list was made up of a CD I put together entitled, Seyes presents Nü-Metal Outcasts because as one have said, most have disbanned. I chose Outcasts because a lot of you deem any of these bands (melodic or not) not metal because they have a mix of rap within. Also, some got airplay and in most cases very little, nevertheless not enough to generate enough status with their label because they got shelved back. As far as I know, the only artists that I used that I know are actively striving are Dry Cell (who are still working things out) and Diecast. I culled all the songs from their original CD's, so for anyone who's interested in finding these CD's here they are respectively.

Just because Chad Kroger (Nickelback's front man) isn't per se Tom Araya (Slayer's frontier) doesn't make them not great. In fact, when I first heard "Leader of Men" I knew I loved NB and since then I have bought all five of their CD's. I can't say that I've ever heard something from Slayer that has made me want to buy any of their albums. Again, not taking anything from what they do but that's not my fortay.

I just have a hard time taking a band that says " I like your pants around your feet", seriously......That and I spent most of the Fall of 2001 hating "How you Remind Me", because it was on every f***ing station.
My friends, an ex-gf of mine and her friends used to get together on fridays and go bar hopping. Everytime that song came on one of us would have to buy everyone a shot....That became pretty expensive and probably made my liver suicidal.....good times though...I guess I have NB to thank for that.

Nickelback is aternative/hard rock some metal riffs but not to many, one of my favourite rock records is the long road their not that bad. The only reason I got into them is because my girlfreind likes them and its good to have some music tastes that are the same so you can get closer to them (wink wink nudge nudge). The guitar work on this album is reminisent to the rock of the 80's. but then again they do kinda suck.
