One of the best albums of recent years - and i love ALL things metal, from Nightwish to Emperor - is TESTAMENT's ' GATHERING' album ( 1999 ). Immaculately produced, and totally catchy, as well as being CRUSHINGLY HEAVY, it completely destroys anything produced by the recent Thrash revival and Death metal genres. I recommend it to anyone who wants to hear a classic of Non-Retro Contemporary Metal. Can't wait to hear what they come up with next. Hope Andy Sneap produces it though. Being a former thrasher from back in the day, he understands the aesthetics of that style in a modern context better than anybody.
