Mortician Vocalist Arrested In Poland

According to an article in the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza, MORTICIAN vocalist/bassist Will Rahmer was arrested by the Polish police after threatening a taxi driver with a knife and stealing a taxi cab following the group's performance in the Polish city of Zielona Gora on Sunday (Nov. 13).
Rahmer reportedly called a cab after MORTICIAN's concert in Zielona Gora (which the other MORTICIAN members performed without Rahmer) and requested to be taken to the Berlin airport so that he could fly back to the United States. He allegedly went berserk in the car and threatened to stab the driver of the cab with a small knife. The taxi driver escaped and called the police. In the meantime, Will stole the car and drove himself to the Polish/German border crossing in Swiecko where he was subsequently picked up by the authorities.
According to the report, Rahmer was placed under arrest and is being held on several charges which carry a maximum penalty of 3 to 15 years.

MORTICIAN were in the middle of a European tour with BLOOD RED THRONE and AKERCOCKE when the incident took place. The group are said to be continuing the trek, with members of BLOOD RED THRONE and AKERCOCKE assisting with bass and vocal duties.

im a friend of will rahmer, i saw him the first day of the tour. he was ill, cold or something, i noticed he was losing his voice. took the guys 2 days to get from new york to london! their flights were to belgium. think about it, on tour for around a month, same thing every day, different location, not a day off and hardly any rest, and when ill!!! he just wanted to go home. i know he can have a bit of a short temper but i dont believe half of whats in the article. and he doesnt even do drugs, but he does drink. he is actually a really cool guy, shows nothing but respect, hes protective. so f*** the lot of you who think he should go down! i know people who have done FAR worse and have been let off. and how the f*** would he know how to get to the airport himself? why would he snap when he couldnt get through to someone on his mobile? i think its bullsh** and i wish him all the best!

Hi there,
I live in the place where the concert took place. Basically that is the story that cab driver say:
At 10 PM he saw some guy calling a cab. (this was mortician vocalist) He wanted to be taken to the nearest airport. Zielona Gora is about 160km from Berlin so Will gave the cab driver 200 euro and they were heading Berlin. Suddenly approx. 30km from Zielona Gora the guy hit the cab driver a few times and then hit again with the knife in the throat and chin. Cab driver somehow managed to stop the car and ran away in the nearest buildings to call the police. Then he was taken to hospital.
The band members were looking for him already. They called the police and gave them the description. They said he could be aggresive. Police set road blockades. Will was probably on drugs or sth. he even forgot to take his passport so when he got to the border he was captured right away and jailed. Now he waits for the prosecution.

Anyway. That is one story and we don't know what really happened. But I dont believe that some cab driver wanted to attack the guy.
About Poland. This place as the same wired as USA or any other civilized country these days so do not tell stupid stories if u haven't even been here. Nice people, nice country, nice chicks, nice food, nice beer :)

Nobody knows what happened in there... I've got info from the tour and apparently will was sick taking medicines and not drinking at all nor having drugs or anything at all... just feeling very sick and not eating well because of it... so did big effort in the last shows. They say is very strange what happened. Else ask the labels or tour manager or the bands etc...

I just want to say that I was almost assaulted by Will Rahmer in Texas November to Dismember for no reason. 2 years after that I was introduced to him but he didn't remember me 2 years prior. I'm not going to say what band I'm in but all I am going to say is that this guy shouldn't be walking the streets. There is no argument.
Will is a troublemaker and starts fights. He shouldn't be doing this at age 36. He shouldn't be doing it at any age. Truth be told, I'm surpised something like this hasn't happened earlier. The hate stems from Will staring fights with people. Roger once told me that Will gets drunk and starts fights without giving any though to the fact that their may be consequences for his behavior. Ask Neil from Kreig, ask the poor cabby he stabbed.

I'm polish and I spoke to the guy who was a technician on the concert that took place the next day (after the hijack) in another city when willy was already locked up.
the rumor (RUMOR) is that a lot of booze and a lot of polish amphetamine was involved and these are the main reasons he went nuts in the cab. for You people who have never been here ->; this is nothing to be proud of but poland produces very good and strong vodka and even better and stronger amphetamine. It is not surprising to me at all, he went berserk after such a combination of toxines. especially that no matter what his intoxicating experience was I bet he was not ready for this.
I do not write it to justify anyone. to me it is all funny. it's another story of a person who went partying too hard. he had so much fun that he's ended up behind bars where he will definitely learn the meaning of a world brutal. oh yes he will. fortunately noone was harmed (the cab driver was more scarred than hurt).

I thought it would be much more interesting to raise a fund to help him survive the prison days - send him CDs , zines, press, books etc. so that when he comes out he's still a part of a worldwide metal underground. bvelieve me prisons in poland are tough - overcrowded in the first place, but also corrupted and ruled by the inner rules. he will need some serious support to survive it, not some "free willy" crap.
I wish him good luck behind bars, if he's tough enough he may be able to save his ass.
I wish that when he comes out mortician records a killer album, I bet will have plenty of interesting stories to tell us.

Maybe you're right, maybe he has calmed down as of recently, I don't know. All I know is my experience with him. I don't wish any harm to him if he goes to prison, I really don't. But if he still is today how he used to be a few years back then maybe a good beating or two in prison would shape up to be a better person. Sometimes someone like that could use a good a$$ kicking. I don't wish him dead, and in a way when he gets out it'll be interesting to see what kind of man he's become. No one can deny he's ever been a trouble maker, not even you Elena. it happened less than a month ago, the procedures take much much longer. he's a foreigner which does not make things easier/faster. if You were told he's sentenced for 7yrs. I think it is just a rumor. all I know is that he's facing 2-15 yrs. sentence but no trial took place yet. Ii will surely take a few months before we know what his future is going to look like.

I know someone whom is a friend of my brothers that was in a poland prison.If you're not polish he said that there is an initiation when you first arrive in the prison. Now you people may think I'm joking but I can send you pictures of my brother's friend. He came back with all his teeth missing and he now walks with a cane. There were a group of guys in there called the girlfriends, he told me the polish translation for it but I forgot it. Throughout the first 3 months they wear you down through sodimy, beatings, and humiliation. As far as I know he did not say anything of actual man to man penetration, but who would for that matter? All donations were made by folks who care about and support Will and Elena. Folks that volunteered to support and help out Will, his family and Elena during this difficult time in their lives. That is why I not only made a donation, but also attended the benefit, and voluntarily assisted in helping to get the info out concerning it. (As did a bunch of folks I personally have known for years.) That is how it is in the NY music scene, we support the scene, the people and the music. (Notice I said AND not OR. ) We don't believe in hearsay bullsh**. We believe in having ALL the facts, and that includes all sides of the story. And you can't rag on a woman standing by her man in good times as well as in bad times.

Why was Will not on stage with the band? Why did he need a cab to take him to the airport when he was suppose to be performing? Did something occur between the band members that would cause Will to leave without performing? Did the band really report him missing? What happened after he was in the cab that would have to cause Will to supposedly put a knife to the driver's throat? If he was already on his way to the airport in the cab, what occurred that would have changed that? Was there a fight or struggle? Did Will lose it or did something else, something different occur? If a fight or struggle occurred in the cab, while on the way to the airport, then why didn't the driver loose control of the moving vehicle? Where could he be heading? The airport? Would he even know how to get to the airport of a foreign country on his own, without any guidance? Why would he be going to the airport without a passport? Was he trying to head back to the show? Why would the police set up road blocks for one man, driving blindly around the country? Who are all these people with so much inside information? Lets face it folks. There are really only 2 people who know exactly what went on from the moment Will stepped into the cab until the driver left the cab. And that is Will and the cab driver. After that only Will knows what happened up on til he was arrested. And as far as I am aware of, so far there is only the cab driver's version. Will's account of the situation has yet to be made available. Seems to me that there are just to many unanswered questions. So once again I ask you, do you have all the facts of the situation, so that you can make an intelligent decission?

Yes, I do have better things to do. But I do enjoy Will's suffering, so I can't help but revel in a situation like this. For the most part, the anti-Will club has been leaving his girlfriend out of the insults, I believe there is only one post that could be construed as an insult to her above. I met Elena once, she's a pretty cool person, despite her god awful taste in men :)

I've known that pile of human feces for half of his life. Elena, her loyalty while admirable is misplaced. Will never felt any sense of loyalty to her. I've heard this media potraying Will as a bad guy nonsensical argument before, there is no media coverage at all, just one article in a Polish Gazeta. That is the only coverage this incident got. How could you say that the article was biased ? It was in Polish, do you speak and read Polish?. Past behavior is the best indication of future behavior, I've always known him to be a violent drunk. Ask Neil for Krieg, ask Roger.

I still believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. And I still don't believe in kicking a person when they are down. I don't care how well you know that person, if you can't say anything good then shut the f**k up. We all have done stuff that we regret in our lives. to WarEnsemble and jero ->; these are just rumors. it takes the polish "justice" system much much longer than a month to sentenmce someone. it's usually a few months. if the case is really complicated it might be longer. this information (about the 7yrs. sentence) comes from Macabre technician and was not confirmed by any media here. it is simply too early for a sentence.
another thing is that there's quite a chance that Will would come out of this free. In many cases court orderds a probation. hmmm... is that how you call it? sorry but i am not sure of my english now. what i mean is that he will get sentence that will not be executed immediately. if during the following, let's say 5 years he will not commit any crime he will not be put in prson. so he would get lets say 3 years sentence in 5 years probation period. this would mean that for the next 5 yrs. he'll has to stay out of trouble because otherwise when he commits any crime he automatically gets 3 years of prison plus a new sentence. obviously to do this he would have to come to poland again. such kind of sentence is ordered if for example this is the first time he's done something like that, if he has family that he needs to support (like kids toi feed) I believe that intoxication or the fact that he was supposedly sick and even that he's a foreigner (so he could have felt lost and terrified) might also be in his favour. excuse if i am not using the term "probation" correctly but I hope i managed to explain how's this working.
i'll get with more news if i read anything in newspapers/webzines etc.

the only news I can get to say that he will arrested for at least 3 months before the charges are presented. he might not only be accused of hijacking the cab, but also for driving without any documents and for "attacking a police officer" (this is usually difficul to dismiss ->; it probably means that when they caught him they had some troubles handcuffing him - which again might mean he was intoxicated, cops say he was on drugs) .
also a number of knives and knuckle dusters was found at him.
no other news I could find.
I know that's not too much and it's been a month since it all happened. I believe it's our lazy "justice" system.
