Tool Ready DVD For December Release

Band Photo: Tool (?)
According to a posting on Toolband.com, TOOL are planning to release a DVD featuring the videos for "Schism" and "Parabol/Parabola" with added extras (more details later) sometime in December (possibly December 20). The posting adds: "Please note that this is NOT the (much-anticipated) TOOL live DVD, which will be released at some point, although exactly when is still a great unknown."
It's been four years since TOOL released their last album, 2001's "Lateralus", and drummer Danny Carey told Launch that the band prefer to take their time recording the follow-up. "We're not pressured, I think, and we don't have a record company hanging over us, saying, 'You have to do an album every year,' or something," he said. "It's a lot more important to take our time and have something to say, and if you're putting out a record every year, how much can you really learn in one year? You know, you've got to develop as a person and develop as a player."

f*** the DVD unless it has some new material on it. I want a new f***ing album....One can only listen to Opiate, Undertow, AEnima, Salival and Lateralus so many times.....despite their greatness......
Grrr
And I hear this one is keeping the tripped-out aspect of Lateralus while bringing in the heavy of none other than Messhuggah....from there I know nothing more....
I can sleep easy knowing that Tool will completely own my home and car stereo for 3 months when the new sh** does.....eventually, come out

i can barely stand waiting any longer for SOME new material....a song, a clip, anything. but tool is the greatest band who ever existed, so the wait will be more than worth it. screw all these bands who come out with cds every year or two, they obviously just want money and fame. tool is in it for the art, and it's all that matters...cheers to the best band ever. i will wait until 2020 for the new album so long as we get one. wooohoooo

Tool can --AFFORD-- to take big strides between albums....If not for legal issues (1997-2000) and A Perfect Circle, these delays would not be so grand.
"Undertow" and "Aenima" made them pretty wealthy, "Lateralus" cemented that. Bands that bust out an album every 1-2 years are either:
A.) Still hungry, young and developing.
B) Suck bloody hog anus
C) Ultra gifted song writters and musicians (see Devin Townsend, Opeth, others)
or
D) On a record label that wont allow half a decade between albums (heh, see also Axl Rose)
Anywho, I'm going to plunk down whatever sum Tool are asking for, as I always have because I -NEED- everything Tool release....Even though I'd glady eat the dvd for a copy of the new album

pfft, only the idiots reduce themselves to threatening rational human beings by leaving comments on a website - that's not even vaguely logical. i think i'll pass on the tool DVD until after i can get the new album, though - i'm lacking in funds at the moment, and i need to eat if i wanna hear the new album or dvd ever.
