Raunchy Premiere New Single & Music Video "Darkest Self" From Upcoming New Album "Prisoner"

Danish industrialized groove metal band Raunchy have moved another step closer to the release of their long-awaited comeback album, “Prisoner.” The group have unveiled a music video for “Darkest Self,” the third single from the record. The band's seventh full-length album—and their first in 12 years—is scheduled for release on August 14th via Mighty Music.

The road to “Prisoner” has been a lengthy one, with recording sessions originally beginning around seven years ago. Reflecting on the extended process, keyboardist/vocalist Jeppe Christensen said:

“This album took the time it needed. We had no deadline. No label breathing down our necks. We just wrote until the songs felt right and threw out everything that didn’t. I think you can hear that – there’s no filler on this one.”

Drummer Morten “Molle” Toft Hansen added:

“We’re not chasing anything. We made the record we wanted to make. If people show up, that’s the gift. And if they don’t, we’ll still have an album we’re proud of.”

Producer Jacob Hansen (Aborted, Katatonia) once again handled production duties for the album, which is now available for pre-order through Bandcamp.

“Prisoner” track listing:

01 – “Frostbite”
02 – “Stranded”
03 – “Frameworker”

05 – “Designed Despair”
06 – “Higher Truths”
