Future Palace Premiere New Single & Music Video "Resurge" From Upcoming New Album "Resurgence"

Future Palace have announced “Resurgence” as the title of their fourth studio album, which is set for release on July 31st through Century Media Records. The German alternative metal trio have also unveiled a new single, “Resurge,” accompanied by a music video directed by Pavel Trebukhin (Sylosis, Imminence).

According to a press release, the album explores themes of isolation, inner conflict, and personal renewal:

“The album is a powerful exploration of isolation, inner conflict, and the struggle to rebuild oneself. Blending post-hardcore intensity with cinematic electronics, soaring melodies, and crushing breakdowns, the Berlin trio dives deep into themes of depression, doubt, and emotional transformation.

Ultimately, Resurgence captures the fragile moment where despair slowly turns into strength — and is proof of the redemptive power of music.”

Guitarist Manuel Kohlert explained that “Resurge” emerged from an experimental direction for the band:

“Musically, ‘Resurge’ felt very nu metal right from the start when writing it, so you can call it another experiment since we didn’t do that kind of music yet. Sidenote: When writing the instrumental I had a Japanese video game in mind, which I really liked as a kid, the soundtrack was also phenomenal. It is called Solatorobo.”

Vocalist Maria Lessing added that the song centers on self-doubt and the temptation to start over:

“This song is about doubting everything and every decision you’ve made so far in your life. Thinking about what it would be like if you would completely restart and be a totally different person — but also sacrifice everything and everyone you have in your life currently. It’s supposed to convey deep despair and self-doubt. What would life be like, if you were reborn today?”

She also revealed that the music video continues the narrative established in the band's previous single “Deep Blue”:

“It also picks up the music video story from our previous release ‘Deep Blue.’ At the end of the video, the crew of the submarine gets lost in the ocean after the submarine sank. Their old friend, the siren, which attacked them because of a misunderstanding, welcomes them again in a new world, but the submarine crew has to sacrifice their human form to survive and become a new creature.

Musically, this song has a strong nu metal energy, which has a nostalgic but also modern feeling to it. It’s supposed to catch you but also portray the despair of the message, which I find the chorus represents best.”
