Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania metalcore band 156/Silence have announced their sixth studio album “From A Distance” and shared a new single, “No Arms,” marking the start of the album’s rollout. The track comes with a music video directed by Errick Easterday (Wage War, ERRA).
The upcoming record was produced by Josh Schroeder (Lorna Shore, The Plot In You) and features several guest appearances, including The Devil Wears Prada vocalist Mike Hranica on “Cannon Fodder,” Make Them Suffer’s Alex Reade on the title track, and Crippling Alcoholism vocalist Tony Castrati on “Collateral.” The album is set for release on September 4th via Pure Noise Records.
Speaking about the lead single, the band collectively said:
“‘No Arms‘ is about being without a way to protect yourself and what belongs to you. Being alone and afraid, not having any means to control the situations that befall on us. The overwhelming feeling of being helpless until we’re not. Until somebody saves us.”
Guitarist Jimmy Howell also explained his continued creative approach on the record:
“I look toward bands we love that grew with their listeners, like Thrice and Bring Me The Horizon. They have a sound, but they grow and change. Some bands are comfortable repeating the same thing again. I don’t want to do that. I want to make you feel the way you do when you hear one of those important bands, without sounding like them.”
