Soulfly have premiered an animated music video for “Favela/Dystopia,” streaming via YouTube for you now below. The clip was directed and animated by Creeptoons, bringing a unique visual style to the Max Cavalera-fronted groove metal band’s latest release.
The band described the video as a fusion between the aesthetic of Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and the gritty atmosphere of “City Of God,” the 2002 Brazilian crime film centered on life in Rio de Janeiro’s favelas.
The release arrives while Soulfly are on the road supporting shock metal legends GWAR, with Australian grindcore band King Parrot opening the tour, which continues with the following dates:
