Marilyn Manson has officially released his twelfth studio album, One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1. This marks his first full-length record since multiple allegations of sexual assault and misconduct emerged against him several years ago. While many of these claims pertained to events alleged to have occurred over a decade ago, Manson has consistently denied the accusations. Some of the related civil lawsuits have been privately settled or dismissed, though legal proceedings are ongoing.

Notably, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office recently revealed that its Sex Crimes Division is investigating “new leads and additional evidence” related to Manson, adding another layer of complexity to his legal troubles.

Amid these challenges, Manson has sought to revitalize his career. He returned to live performances earlier this year and previewed several singles from the new album. To coincide with the album’s release, Manson has also debuted a music video for the title track, directed by long-time collaborator Bill Yukich.

In a statement shared today, November 22nd, Manson commented:

“‘One Assassination Under God – Chapter 1‘ is the first half of my story. These songs were conjured from purgatory, and are as raw as a row of broken teeth that slightly resemble a smile. My art is what I live for.

This album means to me exactly what I choose it to mean. I hope when you listen it is the same for you.”

I am so excited to listen, understand, and melt into all these lyrics. It is incredibly meaningful to get to listen to something created by someone that isn't afraid to think, also someone that isn't afraid to be themselves. I feel most alive and myself at your concerts and always have enjoyed everything you bring to the table.
