At the end of the day the important thing is "does the MUSIC sound good?"

"Some" black metal borders on timeless......but if the answer is "no" than the whole thing is as laughable as KISS when they really were taking themselves seriously....My question to Wicked is why show respect to someone who is going out of their way to look absolutely f***ing foolish?....I don't generally have any respect for clowns who perform at a toddlers birthday partY...

Other than the disired response from people how is this different?

I support being oneself but this stuff doesn't enhance the music for anyone unless their 15 and puberty has given them brain-fever....Same for the non-black metal bands that do/did this (Slipknot, Mudvayne, etc.) Too each his own I suppose but all it is to me is a gimmick to bait the stupid.

The sad thing is some black metal bands offer quality that transcends their image....The image only serves to identify them with a scene and style......It is however, outlandish and laughable especially the outifts, makeup and weaponry.....That and they take it so seriously......I challenge anyone not to laugh at those pictures of Immortal....I was sobbing on the floor I was laughing so hard.

Look at Dimmu Borgir, COB, Satyricon and Darkthrown......Well, I mean listen dont look....They are extremely good and original (yes some of them have sold out a tad) musicians with more chops than a lumber jack but they could have wowed people without the silly imagry....

Im not a raging Nirvana fan but I think it's high time we had some regular looking dudes put out some music that knocks people flat in the same manner....
