Feh....Talk about laughably faithless.

I don't think a video is going to diminish Opeth whatsoever........Have you not heard "The Grand Conjuration" and "Ghost of Perdition"? Give those songs a good spin or two and tell me HOW that makes Opeth nu-metal?.....

It's pretty safe to say that if Opeth were going to sellout they could have, or would have done it by now.

Any reasonable person knows that a great band can exist on a sketchy or even sh**ty label and remain true to their fans....The band is with Roadrunner for the same reason they were with Koch, to deliver their albums to American fans.

I Dont think a video is eithear, and i have heard both of those songs, And if you have read alot of Opeth interviews you would no that Opeth didnt ever want to do a video, and were not into making videos, they wanted the music to speak for itself, and Opeth also said that Roadrunner wont effect the music in anyway, well its a bit weird when they join a very well known record label they make one, And I am not faithless in anyway, I think as long as Opeth make great music I will be satisfied, But im just saying Opeth will be called sellouts by many of their old fans and gather many fans of the nu metal and metalcore or whatever the f*** thats called genre due to being advertised and promoted by Roadrunner, and I didnt call them sellouts, but many people will.

Well I do see where your coming from Symbolic. Good points.
What it comes down to, as Opeth has said and you paraphrased, it's the music that matters.....

People who stop listening to a band because they become more well known (and for no other reason) are just cranky. They want their little strange unknown band to stay hidden......

If you stop liking a band because the rest of the world is starting to get a clue then your just being fickle........

the fear that most have about an unknown band going into large record labels is that once that bappens the music will change and opeth will not be opeth.
i myself have introduced to opeth about a year or two ago and from that time period until now, i have not noticed a decline in their originality. it's been the same as it was and i don't balieve that they will me so weak minded as to let this record label run their careers.
i balieve that opeth will stay true to it's fans, new and old.

opeth is defenitly the best band out there they're always changing but not to anyone elses standards they hold true to themselves but as they change they will lose some original fans i have the full album already and i can definetly hear some good old fashiond opeth in there but they are changing hopfully they don't go to far into the main stream sound with their next album

So what? Those people who do are f***in morons.Simple as that.Who cares if they get fans that normally listen to nu metal or metalcore? If that means exposing hot topic fags to good quality music then so be it.It's funny how you idiots b**** about how they listen to sh**ty music, but then when they get the chance to hear some of the stuff you listen to, you oppose to it.It's pretty selfish if you ask me.

Ghost Reveries is an incredible album.Everyone expected them to cheese out now that they are on a major lable but instead they cranked out one of the best albums of their career. If there is any band you should'nt doubt, it's Opeth.Who cares about a f***in video? It's called The Music Industry. That's just the way it works. The video will get maybe a few spins on Metal Asylum and Headbangers Ball, but wont get any more play than that.

You stupid f***ers, the songs were written (and recorded, too) before they had even decided on the record label.

And what's this sh** about the nu metal thing? IF YOU DON'T LIKE NU METAL, DO NOT LISTEN TO IT. I think it's quite simple. And if you don't want to listen to the new Opeth because you think it's nu metal (which it is not), then don't listen to it, and stop b****ing and whining.

And I dare to say, people who stop listening to Opeth because they're making a music video and some insignificant little whiners say that Opeth is from now on nu metal, are not solid fanbase.
