New Sevendust Song Clip Available Online
A 38-second audio sample of the new SEVENDUST single, entitled "Ugly", has been posted online at this location (Real Media).
"Ugly" is the first single off SEVENDUST's upcoming fifth album, "Next", due on October 11 via 7Bros./WineDark Records. The song, which is scheduled to go for radio adds on August 8, was described by drummer Morgan Rose in a recent MTV.com interview as a mixed bag with a "huge chorus, broken-down verses and really heavy bridges."
"Next" marks the recording debut with the band of new guitarist Sonny Mayo (ex-AMEN/SNOT). Mayo joined SEVENDUST earlier this year as the replacement for Clint Lowery, who left the group mid-tour in December, citing "personal issues." Lowery has since become a full-time member of DARK NEW DAY, the new "supergroup" also featuring Brett Hestla (ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT) on vocals, Will Hunt (ex-SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE) on drums, Clint's brother Corey Lowery (ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO) on bass, and Troy McLawhorn (ex-DOUBLE DRIVE) on guitar.
"Next" is the follow-up to "Seasons", which sold a respectable 68,000 copies in its first week of release back in October 2003 to land at position No. 14 on The Billboard 200.
WineDark Records is distributed in the U.S. by Fontana Distribution, a division of Universal Music and Video Distribution (UMVD). SEVENDUST's last four albums were issued through TVT Records.

Cant help but disagree with post 5 but there a good point there.....
Sevendust really turned down the intensity on "Home". The debut was a monster.....Imho they brought the heavy back on "Animosity" but then "Seasons" was very pop minded...
It was nice hearing Sevendust go that way (like Opeth doing the "Damnation" record, which I adore) but I was worried they would tone down from that point forward. Can't help but being happy in being wrong in this case.

lol i've never heard sevendust produce anything as intricate or even entertaining as damnation, or any opeth for that matter.
jsut a few more tune downed power chords with the same generic pop rock vocalist. it's too hard anymore to even spot the difference in song delivery especially when it comes to singing. morgan rose has that same passionless deep monotonous hum as the c** stain who fronts breaking benjamin.
nu metal has never been anything than a kissfm radio circuit music style. it lacks direction, creativity, drive, and passion. the only nu metal band i ever thought was half sincere was stained, and even then they recycle the same record over and over and over...

I'm not comparing skill, or style of delivery. It's very obvious that Opeth are on another echelon entirely apart from Sevendust.
I was suggesting that a band can make a hard left with one album and still churn out quality. I could have cited Radiohead, Porcupinetree or some other band that makes noteworthy dynamic shifts from one album to the next.
Youre entitled to youre opinion but do your research before you comment on what you think about the performances of various band members in any band, or noone will take you seriously....Morgan Rose is the drummer, he injects shouts and roars from time to time but does not sing. The front man is Lajon.

Sounds good....
Sounds Sevendust to me....
Even without Clint Lowery (his departure sucks) this just give Morgan Rose a good excuse to do more of his borderline-harcore vox which are now a Sevendust staple.
I'm giddy for the next Sevendust already.
