Guns N' Roses Set Release Date For New Album?

According to Pause & Play, Geffen Records has set a November 29, 2005 release date for the long-awaited GUNS N' ROSES album, "Chinese Democracy".
"Chinese Democracy" will feature the band's first new music since "Oh My God", the group's contribution to the soundtrack to the 1999 movie "End of Days".
GUNS N' ROSES' last studio album was a covers CD, "The Spaghetti Incident?", which was released in 1993.
In March 2004, Geffen Records issued a GUNS N' ROSES "Greatest Hits" album, which has since gone on to sell 2,195,937 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose and fellow original members Slash and Duff McKagan tried to block the "Greatest Hits" album's release by arguing in a lawsuit that Geffen Records was putting out the CD without their input. Geffen officials countered that they wouldn't have released the album if Rose had delivered the long-promised album "Chinese Democracy", which has been in the works for 10 years.

I was a GnR fan once... it would be good to hear them again... but with out slash to velvet revolver and the loss of bucket head to primus... they better have one damn good guitarist, which i dont think can top slash on his most drunkest of days. if its not good, i'll kill brokenwings, ok?

This thing will sell in a big way, at least right out of the box because of the whole pressure cooker phenomenon. Everyone will want to hear a record that took more than 12 years to be launched (no matter how questionable/sh**ty/bizarre). Without Slash and McKagens very signature sound, the copy thereof will likely be lacking in one way or another.

True Sh-t Metal... but I'm not going to buy that sh-t... I'm going to Limewire the son of a bi-ch and burn myself a copy. I trust and support my favorite bands ONLY... if it proves to be worthy, which it most likely wont, I wont even bother buying it after burning it. I suggest U all do the same.

I know you idiots, Axl is the brainchild behind guns, f**k all those washed up pieces of garbage in velvet revolver, imagine a polished studio version of Madagascar and The Blues, those 2 songs alone crush anything on the VR Contraband album, and I heard Zakk Wylde, who happens to be good friends with Axl, plays several tracks on the album, Wylde is a way better guitarist than buckethead or that has been Slash.

Zach is god like but will it have the wild and compelling mood setting tone the debut had?....
"Madagascar" does sound pretty good from what I've heard, but Axl is in a race against himself minus the two guys who MADE the Guns sound. Mckagen and Slash.
He'll have spent nearly 15 years on this monster, it'll be a shame if it's anything short of perfection.

Hey I not sure wat the album is gonna be like we have been waiting 4 ages i just hope all this waiting is worth it.
personally i think that people will think GNR the old GNR slash and McKagen and buy the album and its sh** .

This album has the potential to be a great album because of how long it has taken to make it. But more than likely it will suck for three reasons.
1)No Slash
2)No Duff
3)Axl, being the power hungry monger he is, more than likely had to have control of the record and didn't have any input on it by anyone other than himself. Any suggestions that he may have been given he would more than likely have taken as "OH,So I don't/can't do this by my self, huh? Well f*** you and your out f***ing of the band!!!"

well, Slash is not even on the level below bucket and finck in terms of guitar playing..he's been boring since izzy got out, and since bucket is also gone, fortus equals slash's talents so there's no need for the other washed up members to come back.. especially duff... what a waste!, AXl is still the main man!!! VR is so f***n overrrateddd!!!

feh....Overrated...
christ.........
Duff and Slash are responsible for the GnR sound on all levels but vocally...period.
Noone here is praising Velvet Revolver, I know I'm not. But their principal players had something to offer once upon a time.....Axl had something to offer as well, but SkidRows singer was doing something awfully similar If memory serves, if with just a little bit less conviction and dangerous imagery.
GNR were special because of the bands axemen, and because of the bands take on the Rollingstones lifestyle. And their looks too unfortunately, it was the 80's and they "were" Mtv's bread and butter for a few years there......
Axl is a tremendous talent. I'm not going to argue with that one bit.....But his capacity to --BE-- GnR is a bit questionable....especially after 15 years.
