Opeth Reveal New Album Tracklisting, Cover Artwork

Band Photo: Korn (?)
Opeth and Jens Bogren have now finished the recording and mixing of the latest opus "Ghost reveries" (view cover). The album will be mastered today (June 16th) at the Cutting room facilities in Stockholm. Total running time will be around 65 minutes. Full tracklisting is:
Ghost of perdition
The baying of the hounds
Beneath the mire
Atonement
Reverie/Harlequin forest
Hours of wealth
The grand conjuration
Isolation years
A release date has yet to be confirmed, but it's planned for late August/early September worldwide through Roadrunner records.
In other news, Opeth have confirmed that they will appear at the Metal Hammer festival/Spodek arena in Katowice/Poland on August 31. Oddly enough supporting Korn. Other bands on the bill includes Lacuna Coil and Fear Factory.

"f***ing awsome...the talitm cover all melted like...but only 8 songs?....ehh they will still rock hard"
I assume you are talking about Korn right?Wrong band foo.
Anyway, Opeth owns. This album will own.
I'd say that this and Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked are the 2 top candidates for album of the year.

Haha ok, well I believe each to their own music taste even if i cant stand the band....But why the f*** is koRn even being mentioned on this forum (or site) THIS IS OPETH!!!!!, and their new album will rule!!, Im not quite worried about Steven Wilson not producing the album or them joining roadrunner, Still life is my favorite album by them so without Wilso they will still own!

....yes...well...
ok, back to the topic....post your favorite Opeth album and why.
"Deliverence".....two weeks ago I would have said Blackwater Park but now I'm fixated on the sheer massiveness of Deliverence. It's debatably their heaviest, one of their longest and the guest spot of Steven Wilson on "Bleak" is perfect. The title track may even be my fave Opeth song.... I'm hoping the new one sounds as seamless as the last 3 have with out SW behind the production.

not even sir
does not get better than morningrise with still life coming in for a close second. just an overall beautiful album without sacraficing the f***ing heavy sound. a ballad like to bid you farewell in the midst of that black metal trend was a godsend.

Opeth owns. They are the best metal band recording today. Every one of their CDs is a classic, and "Ghost Reveries" will be no different. I was a little scared that they had signed to Roadrunner, considering most of the nu-metal/metalcore crap Roadrunner releases, but since it's Opeth, I'm pretty confident "Ghost Reveries" will not mean Opeth is selling out. Every Opeth CD is different and refreshing, and after "Deliverance" and "Damnation", I wondered how they'd ever top themselves. Opeth is one of the few bands these days that has not descended to self-parody, like Metallica and Korn. If "Ghost Reveries" is even half as good as "Deliverance", it will still be one of the best albums of the year.

Korn are the FIRST...I dunno about best.....most commercially successful.....most innovative for sure....
If I had to make a call on """Best Nu-Metal Band""" I'd give it to these bands in this order:
Mudvayne - best all around, best bassist
Sevendust - best lyrics, best drummer and vocalists
SOAD - most unique, most frantic, most sincere
Nothingface - most angry, best guitarist
Fearfactory - almost too heavy for genre award, most underrated
Slipknot - most overwhelming soundscapes, most members (heh)
Cold - most articulate, most depressing (yes nu-metal is about angst, that counts)
WORST Nu-Metal Bands
Paparoach
Crazytown
LimpBizkit
LinkinPark
PM5K
Methods of Mayhem

I Think Opeth were inspired by the end riff to Deliverance with 'The Grand Conjuration, it reminds me of it, and the song is brilliant, and the song that has been released does not include the intro or outro, as it was played on some radio station, and the song was already long enough (9 mins), so the original song clocks in at about 12 mins (so im told), Like many people have said, Opeth wont disapoint, and Ghost reveries will not make Opeth look like Sellouts, If you have heard the previous Opeth albums, then most people would realise worrying is just dumb, Ghost Reveries will be one of the best Metal albums this year, with a highly talented band like Opeth, its guaranteed!
